    I was going to do the secondary air pump mod on my 2006 but don't see one mounted by washer bottle. Does the 2006 have one and if so where is it mounted ?

    It doesn't help with the valves though, only the filter/ pump issue. Toyota is covering the cost when the system grenades now, so at least there's that.

    Do you know if Toyota is covering cost for only 12-15 trucks with less than 3 yrs. age or 30K miles or did they extend this? Thanks.

    IIRC, there is no time limit or mileage cutoff. I received a letter from Toyota and I just keep it in my truck for when I need to limp the truck to a dealership. I know I'll be hundreds of miles from one when it finally fails though.

    It's a TSB and I'm pretty sure it applies to all '12-15 4.0 Tacomas.

    I thought it was 2012 only? The 2013-2015 have different software that runs the pump on shutdown, removing moisture from the system that would otherwise corrode the valves.

    The warranty is a two part, first is unlimited mileage until march 2019, then there is a 10 year extension from in-service date, up to 150 000 miles.

    The 2.7L has had this since 2005. It was mainly the 4.0s that have had issues with this setup on the 2012 year models. I would venture to say no, that yours wouldn't be covered, but I could be wrong, so hopefully someone else can chime in with more info.

    There's a "fix" for the 2.7 that tricks the truck to not run the pump. It costs $50 and is made by @slyfox75

    I ,and others, installed this mod on my 4.0 and found it does not work on our engines (he didn't charge me).

    It's a simple install and I highly recommend it for 2.7 owners to avoid the headache of dealing with it failing.

    I don't know about a TSB for the 2.7.
