If the truck had 10k miles in it and was in Cali I’d try it... 150,000km and Canadian truck no way... I’ve been a auto tech for 10 years and learned the hard way that brute force ignorance and speed can turn a 10 min job into a 1-3 hr ordeal.

2ft 1/2 ratchet and lots of pen. oil got them out. Spray from top and bottom working them out then back in a few turns

I recently changed this set up I'll send a picture. Riding lawnmower would hit the eye hooks, bout died loading it haha. By far the easiest way to secure a bike though.

Nice set up, I like the idea of going to the door pegs. Local tracks race team uses a set up like that in the race trailer.

Seeing as I’ll be lucky if I get out to ride this season 6-10 times I’ll just add d rings to the front box bolts and roll with that.

It's a hell of a lot more fun if you take the bike out of the bed before you ride it.

For a 2 bike setup I just use 3 of the cleats on the rail system. I upgraded to the rhino soft ties after these pix were taken but i made some chalks and try to line the front wheels up in the bed grooves. Single bike I go just 1 diagonal and close the tailgate with 2 straps in the middle of the bed and the one about 2 feet from the left corner on the rail system. 58,000 miles and a lot of dirtbike hauling and no problems. The new rhino straps I got I really like you can see 1 set on the 505 bike but they are a nice soft tie.bike chalk2.jpg tacobike1.jpg
    bike chalk.jpg

also the strap locations and such have made it easy to get my loading process down to a science. I run 1 strap through the rear wheels and the ramp also across the back just in case.

Those are some damn nice bikes.

Iv got my box bolts out so I ordered some d rings from a dodge sprinter van (theres a post on here somewhere with the part #) Ill pop those in tomorrow. I felt that was the best option on a budget and they're held in by bolts going into the frame so probably the most solid mounting option. Ill post pics tomorrow if its not snowing, yes I said snowing on May 1st :annoyed:

Thanks. Sounds like a good option.
The 350 is my friends and is a sweet machine. I have the KTM 450sxf and a 11' Yamaha YZ450f that I love and will never part with. I have some pix in my album. We are flooded out in Illinois here for like 3 weeks no joke... It is terrible when all you like to do is play with dirty bikes....

I strip em all every year too. Very meticulous with my bikes. My 11' 450 has been bullet proof and has character but has been insanely reliable.

I rock out on a 2006 YZ450F. She's a beast of a bike that has been nothing but good to me..... but that new 2019 YZ is calling my name...

I am in the same boat. I am loving my KTM but the power the Austrian bike make is a lot different than the Yamaha and how its delivered. It is hard to explain but the hit is so different. KTM is smooth and loves to be in the RPMs and pull the gears out way longer. My Yamaha is brute grunt jut blip brap and fly. I have a friend with the 19 Kawi and 19 Honda so I will be comparing as many as I can this year... my blood is blue although I do love the way the orange bikes look....

They make good bikes that’s for sure. I took a buddies husky FE350 out on the weekend and I gotta say if I buy a new bike that might be the ticket.

Man you guys trusting the cleats are ballsy.

I use the cleats as a wheel chock to keep the front wheel from turning (bike loaded straight in, in the middle). I wouldn't trust them to compress the suspension and strap the bike down to though.

I use the Caliraised brackets on the front bed box bolts - $20 shipped for the pair. I'm lucky in that my frame was replaced in 2017 otherwise those front bolts would be so rusted in there they'd never have come out.

I also use a AMC-400 on the hitch, mostly on my 4Runner - but it works fine on the Taco too.

I told myself a new KTM or Husky 350 would be my next bike to be honest I rode a 15 and 17 and both were some of most fun bikes ive ridden which is contrary to how I thought I would feel being a 450 guy. I'd have to try one on a deeper faster bigger track though to see how it is.

Surprisingly enough I got 4 of the 6 bed bolts out of my 2008 Canadian rust belt Tacoma. I didn’t try the rear 2 but I’m on my original frame. I decided it would be wise to try to get the bolts out before ordering d-rings

The FE is a dual purpose but that’s stating to appeal to me as I dont have the time to ride as much anymore. After riding it I told myself if I wanted to keep my license I should definitely not get something like that. Every bump in the road or man hole cover is just an excuse for a wheelie hahah
