Securing items in an open bed

I recently mounted the relentless brackets with security bolts (a less common tool for a dedicated thief to have). May cable lock or drill the threads to use a padlock (still undecided).
If I didn't have a expensive jack, I wouldn't worry about it.

 

CBI Fab makes a nice lockable sceptre can holder. You would have to fabricate a mount for it.

 

Punch 5 extra holes in one of these or a version made by others. (Wasn't nearly that expensive when I bought mine ). Put a lock through the bracket as designed and make the thieves cut the lock if they want your gas.

 

This looks like an awesome option. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of spending 200 dollars to protect 15 dollars worth of gas. But hey, it looks cool!

 

I busted a bike thief in Seattle that had a pair of bolt cutters, a socket set (SAE and Metric), and a battery powered angle grinder in a smallish backpack when SPD searched him. How the U-lock shaped bruise on the side of his head happened, we may never know

 

True, but if you have a 60 to 90 dollar sceptre can in there, it starts to make more sense.
I won't deny, it's a lot of money for what it is. The only reason I had one is that it was part of a custom rack I had

 

I just went with bolts and locks. Haven't had any issues so far... been this way for over a year.

 

Yes - Someone walked off with one of my total chaos Bed stiffners. Someone must have walked up on them because I still have one!

 

WTF? There are nuts behind the taillight. Did they remove the taillight and just leave it hanging or did they steal the taillight too?

 

They destroyed both tail lights to get what they wanted.. I did gain a craftsman 1/2 but not worth the frustration.

 

Wow! I've seen where people have stolen stupid stuff, but that's bizarre.

I'm no expert, but aren't a pair of tail lights and a set of gussets pretty close to the same price? Seems one is way easier to take off...and you have to take one off to get the other.
