Yes and no. Regular tint holds the glass together, but not as well as the security film. I’m guessing maybe they glue it on? Easier if you all watched this

I'm sure they make a fine product, but they suck at hiring a videographer. No one is going to take seriously a video narrated by the same guy that demonstrates every single workplace safety training I've ever taken.:rofl:

    Damn I just had flashbacks.

    "Safety shoes and you."
"Operating class 4 forklift trucks -what not to do"
"Fire extinguishers are not a toy."
    "H2S spells You're Fucked."
    "Stairs - your secret nemesis."
"Don't lift the goddamn box that way, you idiot."
    ... And many more.

I had the llumar security film in my old 2015 Tacoma. Cost difference was not that much vs ceramic tint if I remember correctly. No complaints.

The film is thicker than normal tint, more like vinyl, like paint protection film. It stretches quite a bit before you can penetrate it.

I’ve been looking for you since yesterday. Would you recommend it for my case?

I can say that I did not regret my choice. If a thief is persistent enough he will get in your truck regardless, but thieves in my opinion look for the quick and easy, so I think most of the times if something gives them a bit of trouble they’ll move on, that’s why I like to add deterrents, as an attempt to discourage them if possible, but bottom line is, it all depends on how bad the thief wants it and how much time he has.

I can’t tell if OP has convinced himself that he wants the tint...or if he’s trying to convince us to convince him that he’s convinced himself.

I was looking for an answer based on experience or knowledge of the product. Thanks to epa4wd I already made my decision. Totally agree with you, most thieves are there for the quick and easy. Thanks bro

    Thoughts?

Someone who can afford a '19 Tacoma yet sleeps 8 seconds from their truck in crack central should move.

Unless you're the supplier and like living close to work. In that case, just Uber and remove your worries.

It’s a little one bedroom house almost at the beginning of an alleyway. Believe it or not, it’s expensive to live downtown San Jose. Just became journeyman about a week ago (after 5 years), so the truck is my own little graduation gift. I am actually saving to move out of there, but I’ve also been driving in this janky accord and searching to buy a used truck since the end of October. Took me a while to realize how stupid it is to buy a used Toyota. 2014 - $29,000 2017 - 37,000 I saw a 2018 for 38,400
For 600 bucks cheaper I got a ‘19. Dropped 22 G’s for a small payment. Always wanted a truck. I didn’t want to settle for something I didn’t want. Protect it as much as I can

It took several hits but dude still gets in the vehicle in less than 30 seconds. The alarm noise is probably drowning out the sound of him hitting the window multiple times

Again. Not gonna keep them out, just gonna make it harder. And if you think about it, no one really hangs around the car with the alarm going off if they’re the ones trying to break in

I guess living in the big city, I don't even bother to look when a car alarm goes off.
