Hey guys! I just purchased a 2017 Sport 4x4 doublecab without the Tech Package. It has NAV and tow pkg. though. I haven't taken possession of it yet because the dealership will be installing mudguards and exhaust tip when they get them in.
I also wanted to add a security system if it didn't come with one. The salesman wasn't sure if it did so he ordered one and stated that they should be able to install it.
Does anyone know for sure if the 2017 Sport models come with a security system as standard or do I have to add one to it. I don't want to be ripped off by the stealership and have to pay for one if it comes standard.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    ??? I don't have the vehicle. It's still in the dealership's hands.

First it might be helpful if you mention what you mean by "security system"... :)
i.e. what problem are you looking to solve?

What is in my TRD OR with P&T is rudimentary. Once locked the security light stays red for 20-30 seconds then starts flashing. If I then reach in through an open window and open the door the alarm goes off with a bunch of horn honking.

It also has a little window sticker on the front windows.

I don't remember anything separately listed on the Monroney sticker but didn't look for it either. EDIT: just looked and nothing listed.

It does have antitheft 100%, it just doesn't have adanced things like glass breakage etc...

There is a security horn seperate from the other horns that will honk if the vehicle is unlocked from the inside after being armed.

It's also nearly impossible to steal any current Toyota without the keys.

Thanks guys!!! Yeah, I'm not concerned with glass breakage. I just want an alarm to go off if someone opens the door while it's locked. (mainly because I keep my dog inside while I run errands {not in summertime though}LOL!!!!) I wouldn't want anyone stealing my girl. :fenforcer:

FYI in terms of dogs and summertime -- it is possible to leave the truck running, get out, and lock the doors using the metal blade key inside the smartkey fob. Just pressing the lock button won't work. Obviously you won't want to leave it that way more than long enough to run into the gas station, but having the AC on tends to cut down on the other folks being so worried.

Also have a look at my remote start setup in my sig. :D
