Mines a daily driver. In the garage if not at work and kinda got a spot I like and no one parks by me.

No, I don't think everyone does: but OP could, instead of letting his car rot in a garage.

New cars sales with combustion engines will start being banned in 2030 in some European countries (that's 7 years from now), 2035 in many US states. How long do you think gas stations will be around after that?

Guess it depends on your priorities. It's a $40-50K truck now. I'd rather buy a <5K beater to drive. Guy a work with moved down from Wisconsin a bit ago. His 2013 Ram 1500 is rusted through on just about every panel, and the whole undercarriage is toast. Down here his truck would really only be bought as a hunting truck for cheap.

I set a goal to loose 30lbs by the end of the year. Would you like to know how that's going?

Why, do you plan to store your truck and ride a bike this winter?

Me thinking I’ll take the RAV4 or the Yaris for the quick runs around the house because they have better MPG… Then I look at the Tacoma and say screw that, I’m driving it. :burnrubber:I would never stand buying a cheaper car to drive in the winter, impatiently awaiting summer to drive the Tacoma again.

Nope, bought a truck to yee and/or haw with, Im just waiting for clear weather to go and send it in the mountains. Can't wait to winter truck camp. If it lasts slightly less than usual but I've had adventures... well thats what I got it for.

Edit: also, I got some crispy blizzaks and when the roads are shit this truck rocks.

For a very long time, just because they don’t sell them in the future, doesn’t mean everyone is going to buy them in the future. There’s going to be gas stations until you die.

I don't think this will happen that quickly. Infrastructure won't support it in that time frame. Combustion engine will be here for a long time.

Isn’t storing a vehicle for months without driving it, bad? Seals, fluids, oils need to move around. Even tires.

As a Minnesotan, I'm well acquainted with the concept of the winter beater, but I wonder why someone willing to drive around in one in the winter is not willing to drive around in one all year?

Dedicating money and space for unused toys is something I try to avoid, but then I came into the possession of a boat. :)

If I were to have a winter and a summer car, the Tacoma would be the winter ride and the summer ride would be a 2-seat convertible. Owning 2 pickups doesn't make any sense to me unless one is a dedicated trail rig that was not useful for pickup stuff. Why daily drive a pickup if you have another pickup?
