The problem with your example is that the contract you signed with Toyota Financial to loan you the $$ for the car is a COMPLETELY separate entity from problems with the truck.

You can't just stop payments because you suspect the truck is a lemon. The contract you signed with Toyota Financial is for them to lend you the money at a certain interest rate, and specific terms. Those terms are pretty much iron clad. You can have them repo the truck, but your credit will be ruined for years -- it's just not worth it.

So not true, when you sign loan docs you are responsible for paying period. The loan and the warranty are two completely different things. In the old days your right people use to do this so the banks and corprate America re wrote the laws in there favor. You don't pay all you do is hurt your credit. They don't care one bit if you truck is not running or stolen they want the money. Period !

Don't ruin your credit dude, this isn't the right way to handle the situation. Any difference between what you owe on your contract (plus certain expenses) and what your creditor gets for reselling the vehicle is called a “deficiency.” For example, if you owe $10,000 on the car and your creditor sells it for $7,500, the deficiency is $2,500 plus any other fees you owe under the contract. Those might include fees related to the repossession and early termination of your lease or early payoff of your financing. In most states, your creditor is allowed to sue you for a deficiency judgment to collect the remaining amount owed as long as it followed the proper procedures for repossession and sale.

I actually am with you on this. I hope you stop paying just so we can see you come back and say they repo'd it and then are trying to buy a Gen 1 with 179k because you tanked your score.

Trade it in or sell it.
My 2010 has had the water pump, drive axle, headlights and catalytic converter replaced, all on Toyotas dime. Still waiting on the leaf springs. All before hitting 50,000. Toyota!

Best way to do that is not to buy the product and reneg on the loan.

Best way to accomplish this is by not buying the product period.

Not sure about that. You may be right in some sense, but if you have followed the Lemon Law in your state and your truck is still not fixed by toyota or the dealership then I would think this would require some sort of litigation in a court of law. This would mean both parties would need attorneys (more money) and the case would have to be resolved in court before any cost deficiency (if any) would be awarded.

You never left your state or Murica, haven't you? This is practiced all over The world, granted Japanese business was the best I ever dealt with but you're clearly delusional. Most business are out there for profits, granted they take care of their customers so they return. But in your case ''one guy '' "trying" to stick it back to Toyota is not going to make a dent in their profits. They will get the last laugh. Go to Hawaii or Guam, you will see 2010 Tacoma for sale for 25-30k still because of their value and there is only a couple dealers out there.

Not offended, just tired of the constant trolling and troll baiting. Even if it's legit (which I still doubt) these threads are shit magnets.
