I'm trying to find a way to seek through every station with the steering wheel buttons, not just my presets. I have xm, I have a lot of stations programmed, but want to be able to go through every station while driving without having to reach over to the radio and press a button (lazy I know, but there's like 300 channels, who's got time for that shit). I can't seem to find the answer for this and thought that I was able to set this as a preference somewhere. I could have sworn I saw it, but it may have been in my old vehicle.

If it's convenience you're looking for, the Tacoma won't fit the bill.

If you want presets just touch button. To go to next station hold button down. At least that is how it works for am/fm

That's the Scan option, that you are looking for. It can't be done from steering wheel, only from radio itself. Seek is only preset stations.

So, I tried what @mhornco said and it worked. Hold extended and it speeds through channels, hold for ~2 seconds and it skips to next available station, brief press goes to next preset.

I thought you were looking for it to auto switch (scan) stations. (ie. hold each station for 5+ sec, and auto switch to next)
