Mostly maintenance ordered so far (LCA's, gaskets) and I got those axle relocation plates. I'm about to pull the trigger on that brake upgrade as well because I'm already going to be working on the front...and who knows, maybe those LCA's will get some protection!

Haha after my most recent sedona trip i really need to. You think moving the axle back would cause any vibes?

I don't see why it would. Every thread I have read where the guys have done it seems like it should have been that way from the start...meaning OME should have a spacing tab 3/4" back. Essentially its moving the axle where it should be in the first place right? Either way, I had no vibes before the Dakar pack, and none after, so I can't see this causing an issue.

I was considering doing the u-bolt flip while I'm at it with new bump stops, but I don't think I want to tackle the shock mount relocation right now. Plus, I don't know if I even want to relocate them at all. Gotta stop spending so much time on here...:anonymous:

Thanks! You don't have to get serious, just start somewhere!

Changed the oil today and installed a Fumoto drain valve. No more oil mess...hopefully.

    Stuff. Also things.
Just found your build thread, man. Very, very nice ride! Love seeing the Indel B 50L behind the driver seat of your Xtracab. That is EXACTLY where I'm hoping to eventually have mine.

Thanks! The fridge is currently residing in my motocross van thought!

Anyone have any recommendations for cutting LCA bushing sleeves? I swear they're made of some unholy fusion of mithril and adamantium! Cut off wheel has done the best but I can't get into each one...sawzall is useless.

    Thoughts?

Tried, no dice. Persistence with the grinder seems to be my only option. Got one off today...took entirely too long. Started to soak my brake line connections in PB blaster too. They are rusted together as well. Fuck the salt states.

Grinder ftw...and I only ended up taking just one chunk out of my hand with it. Six cutoff wheels later and both LCA's are out of there! Good riddance!

This mod session has got to be the most frustration and the longest I've had yet. To recap, Saturday I went over to @MJonAgs32 to get started on new LCA's (because my bushings are fused to the cam sleeves and its cheaper and easier to just buy new LCA's than bushings), Tundra brake upgrade, steel braided lines to go with the brakes, and what I had hoped I would have time for...rear axle relocation.

    Cart of mods!

This was about the point the frustration began...

The brake lines were frozen solid and took a couple days of soaking in PB blaster and a flare wrench to get them undone. Take your time with this step, otherwise you'll be off to the auto parts store to buy a new hard line.

New LCA's and Moog camber bolt kit.

One on! You might notice that the incredibly long bolt on the left of the image sticks out quite a bit. In fact, that is where the steering rack goes and I had to end up flipping the bolt so it could clear. Come on Moog, its not like this is a universal kit...

By the second LCA, I had had enough and just went nuts with the grinder and BFH...

But the end result was worth it!

Sunday, I'll swing back by to bleed the brakes and be out of MJ's driveway! Axle relocation will have to wait.

Are those Tundra brakes? It looks like the exact same caliper/rotor package that I got. I'll be putting it on in a few weeks, so you'll have to let me know how you like it!

Yes, they are the Callahan kit on Amazon. Same thing that @Delta00 has and he loves them.
