    Good Afternoon everyone,

So I’m trying to install my tonneau cover that I just bought and I have to remove the existing cargo/mounting rail and the top edge cover against the cab. However, the screws have seized and was wondering if anyone has tips on removing them. I’ve tried spraying them with PB Blaster, but seeing how the screws are in horizontally, it hasn’t done much of anything. I’ve attached some pictures for reference.

Get a torx bit on a ratchet then put a pipe over the ratched handle as a breaker bar and break then loose real slow. They'll come out.

More than likely they are not seized but are held by loctite. I know that heat will help but obviously that is a tough spot to apply heat without damaging something.

Make sure you have good quality and correct size torx bits. I had to smack the end of the ratchet with my palm as I pressed towards the torx screw with my other hand and that broke them loose.

I used an impact wrench on mine and it worked perfectly

I would imagine that as far as seized go....these are like a level 2 out of 10 at the very worst.

As others have said....an impact driver with a good fitting T30 torx bit, or a ratchet you can extend with a bar etc to gain torque as you slowly break loose.

Yea the socket type i use. Def get a good set of those. They'll last a good while, i don't recommend using a impact gun with them though...
