I figured mine were too far gone but i tried to restore them anyway.

    Total cost: $0.60 (2x c-clip)

I broke off the old horseshoe clip and hammered away at the pin with a punch. I was finally able to work it loose after lots of pb blaster and precision pounding.

I then cleaned up all the components, sanded off the majority of rust, primed and painted, reassembled with some grease, and installed the new c-clip.

Looks good! Always nice when you can fix up the old instead of buying new.

I couldn't get mine apart. Put in vice and had to hammer on it to get it to creap back and forth till i could do by hand to cycle. Took a while but it eventually freed up.

I then proceeded by buying the wrong cable and gave up on it.

Now most times when I get these they have been seized for quite some time.

Glad you were able to save yours.

I have yet to be able to free any using ever type penetrating spray .

Most times the Bell Crank bracket breaks before anything comes loose.

So I have learned to keep a few brackets on hand.

New hear but have been a toyota tech for the past 11 years. Living in the rust belt (ohio) i have seen plenty of these. The factory stuff is expensive when trying to buy individually. Recently we found that Dorman ( an aftermarket company) sells a kit with all the pieces in it. You can get it for 40-50$ online :thumbsup:http://www.dormanproducts.com/itemdetail.aspx?ProductID=54410&SEName=924-752

    HI-jacking this thread! :threadjacked:
So, I got my bell crank assembly loosened up but the cables are apparently frozen!
Would anyone know of these part #s for an '01 DBL cab 3.4L 4x4 and / or a write up on replacing the cables?
    Thanks!
