Tried to change plugs today on the right side two out of the three plugs I could not break loose , did not want to strip threads or break the old plug off, any ideas or advice? Otherwise it is getting traded in on a new truck.

Bring it to the Toyota dealer and have them changed. That way they break them loose this time around. Then you change them from here on out.

I am concerned if they strip out the threads they will not tell me.I have no trust in my local dealer.

You can spray pb blaster down there and let it sit for a few hours so it penetrates, then unscrew it as far as it can go, then screw back in, then out then in slowly, just trying to slowly creep it out.

Also, make sure the engine and everything is cold

+4, this is what dealers do with the Ford 5.4s that have the 2 piece plugs. They have you bring it in the day before and spray the plugs. They let it sit over night before working on it.

I don't believe a word of it! That's preposterous! Who ever heard of seized sparkplugs on a Toyota?!?
50% ATF/50% Acetone, mix well apply liberally, couple hours they'll come out.
Use a little Anti-Seize on the new ones.

    P.S. How many miles?

I've been around vehicles for decades, but this is the first time I've heard this as a reason to trade......... thanks for adding to my book.

And if you do buy a new truck because of this, submit to Guiness as the 'world's most expensive spark plug change'. :D

    Many !
Spray with PB Blast,Mavel Mystery Oil, and drive for a half Hour, let sit for 1 hr, spray with again and let sit over night, try the next day when cold !Then when new plugs are put in apply anti seize on threads and do not over tighten ! next time will be a breeze!

did the plugs on my 06 last year and they barely came out, I had to massage them in and out a little at a time, took over an hour and a half. A very nerve racking experience.

I copied this from another forum.

    *********************************************************************************

You cannot round the flats of a spark plug off that is properly engaged - the torque required to do that would rip the threads out of the head long before it stripped a plug. Often times when this topic comes up, it's because the insulator from the plug wire itself has been left behind and socket can't engage the plug. More than one embarrassed member has put a light down there and sheepishly withdrawn the offending part with some extra long needle nose pliers.

Soaking it with Kroil if it's truly stuck should free it up. Although I've run into recalcitrant plugs, never had one that didn't eventually get free from copious quantities of penetrating oil. Also important is the socket - completely flat on the bottom and a thinner wall than most with the rubber insert.

    ***********************************************************************************

Be sure you are using a 6 point socket that is a perfect fit to the plug base. Easy to test on the one you removed. In this case, there is no such thing as 'close enough'.

I had a stuck plug years ago. Soaking didn't help. I ran the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then it broke loose easily. I then just barely snugged it up and let the engine cool. It then came out just fine.

I know this method is supposed to be a big no-no, but it worked for me.
