    That's exactly what I do.

New tune for someone also gets a reset. Heard stories of people having high trans temps after a flash, resetting everything made that go away. So I do it to be on the safe side.

    Calibrates the tcu

It’s the transmission control unit. You can adjust pressures and stuff

Thanks for sharing this information. I have noticed that a lot of the Taco community just has shops do the tuning, so it made me smile to run across folks doing garage tunes as well, that would make me feel more comfortable.

Curious are there any links anyone know of per the Tundra, with basics and some editing tutorials?

In the first post there is reference to the radius of the tire. Is this to get the speedometer back to some accuracy after a tire size change? If so does it also correct the cruise control speed display?

that Is for shift points, not to correct speedometer — you would need an in-line calibrator from rough country or hypertech

It would be so nice if one of these tuners could take care of that little problem of the changing tire size AND the Cruise Control display. But, I'd bet it is not in the engine, nor the transmission, but the Brake control unit. Probably nobody wishes to fiddle around with that CPU.

It's not that no one wishes to mess with it. There's simply no access.

So there is no CAN bus access through Techstream if I interpret your comment correctly. I would think Toyota must program the Brake Module somehow at the factory for the different sizes of tires they offer on the trucks. Has anybody, to your knowledge looked into a more direct avenue of access at the module itself? Or do they use different sizes, or tic counts on the wheel sensors. Obviously I don't know enough yet to be too dissuaded.

No idea, but Mat/OVTune looked into it pretty extensively and determined that it's a different computer that he couldn't access. Although he was looking for a way to edit it from within the tunes, via the OBD port. Maybe there really is another method of access elsewhere.

This is probably why the hypertech is an in-line solution, rather than a reprogrammed one. And I've never used one but if I remember correctly, it's behind the dash or gauge cluster. I'm sure someone will correct me.

Correct. You program it with a laptop to set up your tire size and then it plugs in-line behind the gauge cluster

Yes, I’m looking for something that also corrects the cruise control display too. I know no one has reported doing so thus far.

On my way to work this morning I engaged CC just to see...needle was at 75mph and the CC display speed read 74mph. This is exactly how it was for me with stock tires, the CC MPH always read 1-2mph less than the speedometer needle which read a few MPH faster than I was actually going.
