If you don't need it or want it, sell it now. The market is nuts, take advantage of that while the getting is good.

I'd sell it and take the profit. If I had a second vehicle that is. Just popped my 17 Pro in with 50k miles, they will offer me $39,151. Kinda tempting but I will throw any profit there right back with these insane prices.

Used car and truck prices have never been so high, to capitalize on this, now is the time to sell, not buy.

After the milf comment figure, I’d better keep it!!! Not really worth selling it just to make a few thousand. I don’t need the money and I have it set up the way I want it with the expel clear bra, new tires and the other things I have added.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I kind of like these discussions about financial strategy. I understand a lot of people don't. I just don't see why they can't move on as there are literally hundreds of other discussions going on at any given time.

In any case, it seems you have the potential to gain roughly $4K if you sell. In the big scheme of things that is not a lot of money. I mean you recoup all that you put out and gain probably $3,500, after taxes, etc. Two quick things: 1) That is not a huge amount of money ... so probably not worth it. 2) Given what is going on with trucks and most (not all) cars right now, you probably will lose that $3,500 to $4,000 given inflated costs on the buy side.

So it seems the best two paths forward are to hang on to what you have or sell and not plan on buying new for a year or two until the market recovers -- it may take 18 to 24 months before that happens.

Fun discussion though ... love to hear what you finally decide and why ...

As for me, we have two cars. One is a BMW X1 and the other is a Tacoma TRD OR (2020). Both are relatively new so we will sit tight. I plan on keeping the Tacoma for ten years. The BMW ... I will hang on to until an electric car comes along in a few years that catches my eye -- and that works.

Look forward to your decision ... and what your thinking was ...

    :)

the market short term will defy sense/ reason = U profit

factual prediction ……… the market wont stay this way long

U may never see the same circumstances again

if U trul don't need it

if U truly don't want it

selling at a profit is smart

keeping it talking about it aint smart

Its a few thousand yes, but if you take your 43k and go invest somewhere just slightly aggressive i'm sure you'll see 50k in a year and have plenty of time to figure out what you'd like to buy next.

Had a super high trade value on my 2019 accord from Vroom, same amount i paid 2 years ago, still thinking about it same scenario as you. However i don't think i could drive a gen 1 and motorcycle full time and refuse to overpay for vehicles.

I would sell them both and get a POS to drive for the next year or two until things make sense and then buy new.

If it were me, I’d sell the 4Runner. The Taco is a more all around useful vehicle in my opinion. You’re getting about the same amount of profit either way ya go. Just my 2 cents
