I sold my 2011 DCSB-OR two years ago to get a family car(highlander) since we were expecting baby # 1. I saw my old truck on the road about 3 months ago. Ever since then I’ve just been day dreaming of the good times we had. Anyone else every suffer the same? And is the only cure to get another ? Haha
EDIT: at the time WE made the decision to get rid of the Tacoma, I had a work truck that was provided and cost $0. Wife had an old Corolla that kept breaking down. Hence, decision for family car.

I was fearing these feelings so I decided to hold onto my 2019 even though we’re expecting baby number 2 haha

Nope. I sold my 1st gen and got a 2nd gen with all of the airbags. And supercharger. And many other upgrades. No regrets.

right with you brother! Different situation but sold my truck last year as we only needed one vehicle and it’s a highlander it’s ok but not the same feeling to cushy of a ride. Had Toyota trucks for 25 years and totally missed! 7CBCF41A-29CD-4F0E-801F-77AFB326B4ED.jpg

I doooooo. Luckily I've only seen one of my 1 cars since selling. The rest have disappeared or been scrapped.
Only way I know the get over an old car is buy a better replacement. Or buy another. Personally I havent found another midsized truck that matches 2nd gens overall.

I guess I should have mentioned that I did get a work truck (2019 Ram 1500). Other than the amount of space compared to the Tacoma, it’s nice, but it still hurts

I say we weld 2 double cabs together. You won't need any more room after that:rolleyes:.

Well I would love to say that you will get over it, but I cannot.

Bought a 1980 Landcruiser new in 1980 paid 12,000 for it.

Sold it for the same reason of a Baby on the way. I still get sick when I see one to this very day.

Maybe one day I will forgive my wife and son... :(

Cars and bikes I regret selling? Let's see...

    1999 Yamaha WR400f
    2000 Ford Lightning
    2003 Dodge 2500 4x4 Diesel
    2003 Harley Night Train

None of these were stock when I finally let them go. I always get the mod bug. :)

Ironically, I still have dreams about certain vehicles I've sold. The biggest regret was selling a 2002 Camaro SS. It was red with black interior, t-tops, full hotchkis suspension, motor work, 6spd, ect.

I felt absolutely sick to my stomach the next morning and knew I made a mistake. That car had a soul and I'm sure the new owners got just as much joy if not more than I did out of it. I eventually bought another 2002 Camaro SS shortly after selling the first one and still have it to this day.

It's not always the vehicles themselves, sometimes it the memories associated with them. Yes, getting another does help, but it's never quite the same. I think you need a new Tacoma to fill the void.

I don’t get the baby excuse to sell a DC tacoma. No issues here when I had both of my boys. Hell, try hauling kids in a 98 TJ but I even made that work. Why sell the tacoma when the wife/gf has her own vehicle?

I assume it’s usually the wife that makes the decision

Moral of the story: don’t sell a Toyota. I’m getting worried that my house looks like a junkyard. Way more cars than drivers. And getting another car soon. Haha.

lots of things obviously went into the decision. The wife not having a reliable car, and me not having to pay for a truck already (work truck) were the two main things. We made the decision to put the tacoma towards a car for her...

Unless you work on and flip cars for living, you did what you had to. Even though I made a joke above, taking care of the family comes first. I wouldn’t sweat it. I mean, look on the bright side, in like 27 years when your kids no longer depend on you, you can get another truck for fun. Lol
