Take ALL the extras off before selling, you will get nothing dollar wise for them.

I think it depends on location, I payed $28k for my 2014 TRD OFF ROAD with 41k miles it's a 4x4 but being in Hawaii they aren't cheap. Mine didn't have a scratch on it and was in great condition so I understand the price point but If I was to re-sell out here right now I could probably get close to $25k-$27k. Won't ever sell I want to run it into the ground. If I were you I would take off all the extra's like Lynlan said and sell them on craigslist and then list the truck higher at first and slowly come down as needed.

    Good luck!

I would pull off the cap, bull bar, and bug deflector before trying to selling it. Personally, it would look more presentable to the masses without those items.

I would think the exact opposite but I would take them off because they add no value.

Truth. Regardless of what they 'give you' as a trade in. If your trade is overvalued related to what a bank says the truck is worth, it just means you're paying too much for what you are buying.

    Absolutely if it's a trade.

Probably if it's a private sale, although you could fish around on that a little.

Mods are a niche. If you find a buyer who wants what you have, you have a good day if you get 75% of what you paid. For dicey items like bull bars and bug deflectors, figure 25%.

In other words, mods generally increase value to the owner. Only. Or that special buyer that just happens to be your vehicle doppleganger.

Not every buyer would have the taste of the seller. Most would prefer a more closer to stock look and build from there. Personally, those are the items I would pull off to sell on CL if I bought the truck. It looks much more sporty without them. OP, I would recommend taking pics with and without the add-ons if you plan on posting the truck to sell privately. That way you have a starting asking price for a buyer to negotiate with you if they want the extra add-ons along with the pics will help them decide.

I just paid 27,500 for a 13 Tacoma with 48k as it sits in the pictures. Only thing I changed was headlights and grill.

This is such a great point that I see happening far too often in for sale adds: people tallying up their add-ons or mods. Mods or add ons do not tack on to the value of the truck, especially maintenance items like alignments, brakes, timing belt jobs, etc. You will definitely make more money selling your add-on items individually, but its more effort on your part.

I would not buy lifted or otherwise modified Tacoma. A stock Tacoma is like a blank canvas that gives the owner to modify however they want. The fun is in the process, not necessarily in the results. If I were OP I would put it back to stock and sell the truck and mods separately.

OP, remember you're in Mass and the prices seem to be adjusted a little differently in the northeast because of the salt. Your truck is still relatively new, but I looked at a 2013 off road DB 6speed with 23,000 miles "toyota certified" in Rochester NY and the frame had A LOT of rust and they wanted $26K if I remember correctly.
Also took a 4 1/2 train ride to look at a 2015 off road DB 6speed with 43K on it asking $25.5K in Rhode Island. Damn thing had a busted windshield, rear headrest were missing, and the tonneau cover was gone. What a waste of time...

A couple more in my note book, I have more but I don't want to bore the hell out of you guys.
2015 off road DB 6speed in NH with 78K on it asking $23,488 <---All of the Tacoma's I looked at in NH were priced low compared anywhere else, because of the salt issue.
2014 off road DB 6speed in MD with 34K on it asking $27,000 <---It sold for $26,000 almost bought that one.

Also I forget at what point the pricing drops/increases given the mileage, because some of the low mileage 30-40K trucks were priced just like the 70-80K mileage trucks.

Probably just going to keep it. Was going to sell my M3 and this truck and get something else.....but I just got my truck back from body shop who took care of the small dent and now I’m liking the truck again.....
