Check original post, just uploaded interior pix... they aren't the best, but took them real quick while I was at CarMax today.

That sucks you have to sell it; its a great looking truck. I hope mine looks like that one day. I'm also having trouble justifying the ridiculous gas bill each month due to my commute. I'm considering buying a ~$5k little Corolla or Civic for commuting. Buying a car like that, paying for insurance, and gas would still be cheaper than my Tacoma's gas bill each month.

Thanks man! I think that's what it will come down to if no one here is willing to buy it. I'm surprised CarMax offered as much as they did, though!

I used to detail cars, so I really babied this truck!

This is true but parking is a mother in Vegas...I can't park on the street in my community and have two roommates. We have to play musical cars every morning/night as it is now, adding another vehicle would be hell!

    A couple of points:

#1. If you are going to buy another vehicle...don't forget to consider the sales tax on the new car/truck will only be on the difference between the new and the trade. In most states.

And if you trade even or down (in dollar values) you will pay zero sales tax. This could save you a thousand dollars or more.

#2. I don't hate on Carmax or any other dealer. Sure, they are going to offer a few thousand less than one can sell his/her self for. It's a business. And they have to own the car...maintain the car...insure the car...advertise the car...pay a salesman's commission...etc.

After all that is done...when they secure a buyer, and after negotiating a sales price...hopefully they make a profit. A profit that they still have to pay tax on as well.

    Did I mention general liability?...workers compensation?...payroll taxes?...electric bill?...water bill?...accounting?...property leases?...property taxes?...

    I think y'all get the point. :D

I definitely get it! This is why CarMax offered $1,742 extra if I buy my next car with them (what I would save in taxes)

^^^This. I know people on here will buy some of the things on your truck, if not your whole truck.

    I know I'm one.

And I'd give you my stock stuff.

Example, your nav/headunit, for mine plus like $400 or something... etc.

Although, I have no money to buy things. Just a thought

To OP, with a truck as sweet as yours, my vote would be to move closer to work if the gas money was that out of hand. I would not sell it, no way. It's too nice to get rid of. If $$ is that tight, rent out your roommates room while he is deployed, buy a leer box and a mattress and live in the parking lot of your work, get a part time job at night for gas money, beg, borrow, steal. I would not sell it.

    Great looking truck!

I dont understand if you cant justify the gas bill a month how you can justify such a loss on a vehicle you have spent so much money on and gonna have a tremendous loss:notsure:

Keep the truck, get a cheap motorcycle for the commute. There are always better options than selling something you love at a huge loss.

    What year is the truck?
Sweet ride. I would suck up and pay extra then sell my truck that I put so much money in.
My truck=my baby. I could not watch it roll away with someone else ragging it out after babying it, like you said.

LOL, I am as close to work as possible...I basically work at area 51...there is nothing around for MILES and MILES! My job is too good to quit...

I spent all that money on my truck over the last three years, it is not like I dropped it all at once, so it doesn't feel like I'm taking that big of a hit. I got to enjoy it for all that time.

As far as renting out my roommate's room? I don't think he would like that since it is his house LOL. I own a house that I bought in 2007 (before the market crash). I owe 300,000 on a house that is now worth 100,000. I have it rented to a family but still come out of pocket 800 every month (not to mention the rent I pay to my friend for staying with him). Add 500 gas bill, insurance, and my $600 car note (still owe $10k on truck) and I'm really not living practically in this recession.

I have a motorcycle, but it is impractical in the winter and when I drive to Cali (which is pretty much every other weekend). Also, I broke my back snowboarding two years ago. The motorcycle just isn't as comfortable on long trips as it used to be since then.

You guys didn't need to know any of that, but we're family here at TW! :D At least I'm smart enough not to have alimony or child support payments
