Ha. At first when I read this I thought you were telling the poor guy he could get 28k - same as you got for a pre-runner on 32" tires with 5100s. That seemed kinda harsh. :D

On re-reading, obviously you're referring to the OP's new asking price of 33K.

Yeah, assuming the truck's been regeared to 4.88, it may take a while for the right buyer to show up but 33k seems like a reasonable price.

To the OP 4getful - there are some harsh negotiators on this board and a lot of folks don't like drop bracket lifts. Don't let them get you down and convince you to give away the store.

It'll take a while for the right buyer to show up, but 33k seems like a reasonable price.

But if you really want to sell, take our advice to heart and put up a better description with more pics, and post to more places besides TW. I wasn't kidding when I said TW for sale forums are mostly intended for various modification parts, and are not really a great place to sell an actual Tacoma.

He already listed some mods, but hes not far off from $10k.

    Stage 2 procomp $2,500
    Procomp tires $472x4=$1,888 (http://www.ntwonline.com/Pro-Comp-Tire-Xtreme-All-Terrain-Pro-Comp-Tire.html)
    KMC Wheels $275x4= $1,100 (http://www.ntwonline.com/Xd-Wheels-XD-796-Revolver-Wheel.html)
Front and Rear 4.88 Gears AT LEAST $1,200
    K&N intake $300 (http://www.4wheelparts.com/Performa...A&Engine=4.0L+V6+GAS&Aspiration=Normal&EngVin=-)
    Banks Exhaust $450
    NFab Steps $400?

Just those estimates are about $8,000 so i am sure the OP might be able to list an additional $2,000.

I am not saying that the price ws originally in line with where it should have been, but for all of you that are bashing his mods, you may want to do a little research before dropping out the random, "my truck has a lift too and it only cost me $3000 with tires..."

I'm sure he built the truck up for HIMSELF and not for anyone else so "wasting money" is all in the eyes of the beholder. On another note, how can you say it's such a sweet truck if he "wasted" his money on it?

If the OP is asking too much, nobody will bite. I'm sure at one stage in our lives of selling things, we've all asked a bit much. And how did we fix that? We lowered the price or kept the item.

He lowered the price. His decision so he must be okay with it and still not feeling like he wasted his money.

So please, why bash the guy?

OP you cannot factor in sentimental value when you sell your truck. Obviously she is you baby, but a buyer is not going to care how much you love your truck.

Aftermarket accessories don't increase the value of a vehicle.

    ^^ This.

In addition, the aftermarket parts are used, so even if they did raise the resale value of the truck, the increase would be far from what these aftermarket parts cost new. You might be able to mark up the price by 25% of the cost of the aftermarket parts, so maybe an additonal $2k over blue book sounds fair to me.

Not to mention the various parts that are wearing out abnormally due to the lift, which will further decrease the value of the truck.

Don't get me wrong, I think his truck is sick, and would definately roll it, but I would not pay more than $26k (based on Nada $24k resale value and an addtional markup of aftermarket accessories of $2k).

    GLWS!

Man...the last time that I was on a Tacoma forum and there was this much shit talking and unconstructive criticism the site was called Custom Tacos!! The reason I switched to this site many years ago was to get away from all of the ignorant posts from db's that feel the need to comment on everything just to comment. For the people that I have come in contact with over the years thank you for your knowledge! I have never been on either end of the bashing until now! It does not feel really good to be on this end and does not instill the want to get to know anybody else!! In this particular situation I realize that I posted a high price. I was never intending on acquiring that price. That is part of price haggling! Seller wants as high as possible and buyer wants as low as possible. So begins the back and forth. So this will be my last post on this forum!! Again thank you to those who have helped and answered my questions! To those db's out there.....well you know where you can go!!!

    CHEERS!!! :D

MODS COULD YOU PLEASE LOCK OR DELETE THIS THREAD!!!! THANK YOU!

I personally don't play the "best offer" game too much. If the seller isn't within a couple grand of what I am willing to pay, I don't waste my time or theirs.

If you are ready to sell it, price it attractively. If you have time to sit on it, or don't really care if it sells, then keep it where it's at for awhile, then take another look at the price.

    No disrespect.

    GLWTS

It would be nice if you get a bite on the truck. It's a nice truck and an offer would be an inspiration to get my stuff in market condition. I understand the pricing situation, some people realize the value of aftermarket equipment and would definitely pay a little extra money. I think the last time I checked the blue book on my 09 it was around 20k and it wasn't persuading enough to sell. I don't have a lift or exhaust but if you get a bite let me know. I might have to put mine up for sale too.
