It hurts the curb appeal, if it will fail a safety in the state I would replace it.

Sometimes insurance can cover glass at no charge. Depends on your policy. Might inquire with your agent to be sure.

check your home owners policy. If a branch from a tree (cough cough) fell on it in your driveway, homeowners should cover it.

Be careful, a couple of little claims on homeowners can wind up getting you cancelled. (Voice of experience, and they were legit claims)

I'd fix the windshield and sell it for $4,800.

It comes down to your local market area.

Will a broken windshield cause people to think what else is wrong or no big deal the price is right.

It would likely cost you the around the same amount of money paying for the repair or off the selling price.

Then not knowing the logistics of getting it fixed they come to the truck or a few hours of running around.

Yes. As a buyer i would wonder what else went neglected on the truck if something as easy as a windshield wasn't fixed.

then you have your answer already. replace it, advertise higher and see who bites. you can always lower the price back down, you can't always go up (this isn't an auction)

Replace it. Check out Safelite for a price much lower than $300. I just replaced my windshield with a $40 off coupon I found with an Internet search and it was $207 out the door.

    Edit: Coupon code: 40SEM

Edit Edit: I just checked and the website and it now shows $299 less the $40 coupon for $259. I had it done last month for less. I guess my timing was right.

Agreed on fix it. Bank of America offering a % off on safe-lite currently..while 4500 is cheap people are going to come lowball you. Fix windshield and charge 4800 and show a receipt for fixed windshield. "Take it...or go buy a ford ranger for cheaper bud"

Not fixing something so obviously wrong with the vehicle would have me suspicious about what one can't see.

Yes its a used vehicle, but I'd want one that was taken care of as if you're expecting it to last for a long time.

make a post in the B/S/T forum after you fix the windshield, or just make sure you edit when you do

Let your fingers do the "Walking" and call around to several glass places. I had a new windshield installed for less than $250.00 dollars. Really glad I did it, since my 17 year old one had thousands of tiny nicks that made driving at night kinda scary with oncoming headlights.
