The Ruger is different for takedown, but after you see how it goes back together and practice it a couple of times, it's really easy. Then again, I have done it several hundred times over my time.

The BuckMarks are nice guns too, though usually a little more than the Rugers.

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
I have 2 Rugers, a 1961 pre-warning(Gift from my Dad in 1971 and stays in the safe) a recent MkII and they both shoot fine.
My current fave is a Browning Buckmark.
    Better grip angle for me.
Ruger 22/45 is a good choice.

I have a MKII and it's a blast to shoot. Never jammed using good ammo... Had it a long time too...

I like my Ruger 22/45. The grip angle is supposed to be similar to a 1911 style .45; hence the name.

Another Walther P22 owner here. I bought it because I wanted a full slide that functioned like a larger caliber pistol. The Walther and Sig Mosquito were pretty much the only 2 in that category and as others have said the mosquito is picky. The Walther is much more reliable but not 100%. If that center fire functionality is important to you, get the Walther and buy it new. Some older ones have feeding issues that have since been engineered out. If accuracy and reliability are more important, get a Ruger. No question.
I must be the only dude on the internet to recommend a gun other than the one I own.

For the very best(in my mind) and getting there the cheapest, get a Ruger Mark 2 or 3. Do not get the 22/45 version, go with the traditional. Get the cheapest one with a short tapered barrel. You can then replace the barrel with a longer and better quality Tactical Solutions barrel(this will give you much greater accuracy, the Ruger pistol barrels are extremely hit and miss accuracy wise). By going this route you can get into a better pistol for about the same as if you bought the out of the Box Ruger Mark 3 Hunter model. $465ish

Next get a new Volquartsen sear (or if you want to spend lots get the Volquartsen match trigger assembly) which will lighten your trigger pull and improve accuracy. If you really want to get crazy replace the sights with the smallest front end sight you can so as not to obscure your target. Hogue grips are a great addition too.

    my 2 cents
