    Yup, I read that part. I just wanted to confirm because the factory ones don't actually clip in. I saw a removal video and someone was cutting the plastic parts that hold the OEM ones in place just to be able to remove it. The replacement goes on with mounting tape(In the video I saw). Since MESO is meticulous about this stuff I'm hoping he figured out a way to use those factory holes to clip his in place.

    sorry I edited my post already above, probably after you seen it. I thought the stock ring had pegs that were plastic welded in place.

    Kinda feel the same, maybe @MESO can offer another variant to the AC vents where it's just a smooth circle directly replacing the OEM chrome?

    I believe 2019 (maybe even 2018) switched to the polished black vs black with a chrome ring.

    The switch from a Sienna is the same as the Tacoma's. But with a black ring.

    Thought I remembered that, but wasn’t sure if it was a 17’ or 18’ that mentioned having chrome still.

    Everything is pop in except the dash vent rings. They're "riveted" in the back. If I had to guess, meso will have nubs that can be melted to achieve the same result as stock.

    For me having them look exactly like oem would be ideal

    Thanks for all the feedback guys! So to answer a few questions regarding install and design;

    INSTALLATION
    :
    No I will not be using any 2 side tape. The factory doesn't use it, so neither will mine. The original chrome rings are held in 2 ways; CLIP and PLASTIC WELD(the posts)
    Obviously you have to cut the plastic welds off with a razor to remove the stock rings, and I don't think it would be easy for a customer to have to re-weld new ones on.
    So the design I came up with secures in 2 ways;
    1)FRICTION FIT- the rings are oversized and just by themselves in my testing hold in very well.
    2)CLIP- Utilizing the stock 3 slots (where the OEM clipped in) mine will have locking ridges which combined with the friction these aren't going anywhere.. regardless of Vibration, temp change, etc.

    Here are a few pics showing what I mean
    [IMG]
    [IMG]

    This is the area where the stock clips locks in, and where mine will as well
    [IMG]

    Now as far as DESIGN:
    I understand some guys don't like the "gear" look and would like it a smooth circle like stock. I do agree with you.. I don't like overly complicated looking designs either. However...I feel these replacement vent rings are very subtle and since they are so close to the stock look and size, they don't really stand out(especially in black) to the untrained eye. Also, it's kinda my signature look with the relief cutouts so my OCD really wants them to match.

    Size compared to stock
    [IMG]

    I did this one is light grey just to make it easier to see the size.
    [IMG]

    Molds have started on them.. so stay tuned!

    In other news, the lower chrome delete kits are just about done!:D I should have them before XMAS
