Harlan in Octobber for Fall Crawl. Gives everyone a chance to see some good shows put on by others attending, and the park is big enough to not be crowded even with all those folks there.

Camping on the Putney side is best, lots of secluded sites on trail 45 on the way up the mountain, and night ridingis easier to get to and you dont have to hit the roads to do it. (If you drink be warned Harlan is a dry county and they watch like hawks.)

I am not condoning drinking and wheeling, but I like to have a couple around the campfire and head up the mountain for a good night run

For those on the fence about Harlan, I have been wheeling there for quite a few years now. From stock with 285's to Long Travel with 37's, and this time will be SAS with a Dana60, and there is something for everyone. PLus as a bonus, there are easy trails (corolla type) that lead to all the extreme stuff so you can watch other break there stuff!

fuck windrock! i’ll ride with someone if there is an open seat. but i have said in the TN thread more then once why my truck is not touching that place.

 

If i can get some armer by the meet i may think about a few trails.

 

you can still go and camp with all of us and bum a ride from somewhere nomatter where we go

we can night wheel at windrock.. just get "lost" on the trails. that happened with me and brad at GSMTR kinda. got back to camp at 12:30 pm but the shine made me not remember the rest of the night..

So what you're saying is that at windrock, it's only allowable to night wheel if you are "lost" and are trying to make it back to your camp? Seems kinda sketch. Usually rules are in place for your safety and the safety of others. Not that I won't still be trying to make it but I'd rather go somewhere (if we night wheel) that it's allowed.
