**Edited 9/4. Tex is going to edit the OP as well.

Hi folks. I’ve been trying to get ahold of Tex via PM to edit the OP, but until then he is the tentative plan for the Gallagher head lake trail run.

    Friday 9/13:

      • Early group will meet at the Safeway in North Bend at 9:30am - Depart at 10:00am - Arrive at TH at 12:00pm
      • Later group will meet at the Safeway in North Bend at 5:00pm - Depart at 5:30pm - Arrive at TH at 7:30pm
-sound like Jim is heading out at noon. No meet up location yet.
-seems to also be interest in a post work hour departure...5 ish. No meet up location for that yet.
-*hard to reserve the wilderness, but if possible, those arriving on Friday night should try to snag a decent amount of space, for maybe 14 trucks. Thanks!!!

    Saturday 9/14:

-Meet at Pioneer Coffee in Cle Elum at 9:30am - Depart at 10:00am - Arrive at TH at 11:00am
-this location will make for a fun 30 min scenic hwy drive to the trail head and it’s just good coffee and a local shop. Depart coffee shop at 10:00 sharp.
-I’ll be at this meet up.
    -CB channel 27 for comms.
-For those that can’t make this time and those that just want the route, pic of directions attached. Also coordinates of the trail head attached.
Saturday afternoon and night at Lake
-JimSnell kindly offered to smoke some meat starting Friday night so we have it for Saturday afternoon. *would be great if everyone could bring a side or beverage to share. I’ll bring potato salad.
-sounds like a bunch of folks are going to camp Saturday night as well, myself included.
-I’ll cook dinner for everyone. Probably chili. Again here, please bring something to share...tortilla chips, sour cream, cheese, beer, etc. If you’re thinking “huh, chili in the summer?” You need to do a lot of research on layering and how to dress and be prepared in a high alpine environment. We’ll be at about 6000’ and it will be cold at night.

    Saturday or Sunday Return Trip:
No formal organized runs back for those making it a day trip Saturday afternoon and those camping and leaving Sunday. Feel free to self organize these if desired.

Folks I’m really excited for this. Please come prepared for a moderate off road trail and a high alpine environment, especially if camping. Not to make rules are get preachy, but Leave no trace rules apply to everyone. Bring a positive attitude. Be respectful. Let’s have fun!

I'm going to start the smoker early am for food mid afternoon. I'll probably have something along the lines of pulled pork and brisket, but that kinda depends on what looks good when I get to the store. I'll also have a batch of baked beans. A solid head count will really help with all that.

Whew, I was worried that you might actually show up.

    About halfway done...
I’m definitely interested. Haven’t really full tested my suspension since all my upgrades.
Thinking of joining the Saturday morning group and possibly heading home Saturday night.
    Anyone want to ride along?

Any interest in doing a night run on Friday? If not i'll probably be joining the Saturday crew, and possibly spending the night.

someone correct me if im wrong, but the map location listed there is at the actual lake. so 2.5 hours includes the distance to the lake, not just to the trail head

edit: looked into the Googler a little more and the trail head is roughly 25-30mins closer than what it tells you from the first address. so for me, 2h 40min is closer to 2h 15. doesnt really change drive time a whole lot, but on paper it looks alot more appealing

The Trail is pretty slow going since its bumpy and tight. really depends on how fast you wanna travel. Last time i ran it i believe it took us an hour to the lake head, and another 30 to the top.

Well, considering sunset is around 7:30 according to the interwebs. i'd probably end up getting to the trail head around 8PM. Not sure if thats too late to be running that trail or not. Definitely not something i wanna do solo. So if no interest i'll just run w/ the 10 AM crew on Saturday.

I’ll let you know. Haven’t decided yet whether to camp Friday or Saturday and as always, work could end up throwing me a curveball

You can do it in the dark, especially with a gps track to follow.

No it’s all good! Location points that were listed are good, I was just pointing out to @Kidwidataco that the trailhead is roughly 30mins closer than what google maps says because it counts the 7miles of trail as part of the estimated time!
