    Hi everyone,

I'm heading up to the grant grove / cedar grove area this weekend and am looking for some forest access roads to go off-roading in my taco. Does anyone know of ante fear to start? I tried searching the forums and there are either no options or I suck at searching.

    Thanks in advance!

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
    I'm curious of this myself.

I go to Sequoia (camp at Lodgepole) most every year. I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't any forest access roads as they are pretty careful to conserve the land/trees up there.

Would this be SoCal? My apologies. I figured it would be central, but we don't have a central forum. I'll try searching SoCal, thanks!

There are quite a few forest access roads. The best one I can think of and that we are taking to get up there today is Forest Route 14S75. You can catch it at Eshom Valley and go all the way into the park, skipping the toll booths.

No but in 15 years of Backpacking I have never hade anything messed with at the trailheads. That includes beer in ice chests.

Also, there is Jenney Lakes wilderness wedged in between Sequoia and Kings Canyon parks that has a lot of forest service roads that are accessible.

180 to cedar grove travels through two wilderness area borders and then edges at the forest end, so no trails around there

But grant grove on the other end has a lot of forest roads around it. Can do all kinds of stuff

The area to the west of that map is Jenney Lakes wilderness 14S11 off of the generals highway (198) takes you into the Big Meadows area and all kinds of possibilities from there. It is National Forest and not National Park so dispersed camping is allowed. only tooled around there in my '69 VW bus out to Buck Rock and up to Rowel Meadow trail head so can't tell if what the roads are like. I have mostly been a back packer so just used the roads to get to trail heads.
