On the Tundra and Sequoia, Toyota Racing Development (TRD) adds Sport Tuned Bilstein shocks and TRD-branded front and rear anti-sway bars. The 2018 Toyota Sequoia and Tundra TRD Sport models also come with the 381-horsepower 5.7-liter i-Force V-8 engine, and a choice of rear- or four-wheel-drive. The TRD Sport package is available on both the CrewMax and DoubleCab Tundra bodies.

The 2018 Toyota Sequoia TRD Sport gets a new grille and front bumper and adds gloss-black mirror caps, 20-inch alloy black sport wheels, smoked taillamp lenses, black satin TRD Sport and Sequoia badging, black fabric seating for seven (with optional black leather captains chairs, part of the Premium Package), and TRD shift knob and sill protectors and TRD Sport floor mats.

Appearance enhancements to the 2018 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport include a mesh grille with a body-color surround, color-keyed mirrors, front and rear bumpers, and hood scoop, 20-inch silver alloy wheels with black accents, LED headlamps with black bezels and daytime running lamps and a TRD Sport bedside graphic. Inside, there’s a TRD shift knob and TRD Sport floor mats.

Will these ever be revamped into new models?

I loved the 5.7 in my old tundra but come on! The same damn powertrain for 11 years now.

Doubt it, sales for both are terrible, I'm surprised Toyota hasn't killed them off yet. I do like the new Tundra front.

That Sequoia looks like somebody went to AutoZone and "pimped" their parents hand me down SUV.

Perfect. That gives me a chance to get a new one with the same old proven drivetrain. I was worried they were going to pull a "3rd gen tacoma" on us for 2018.

    I'm with both of you.

Sales aren't that bad especially for Tundra & considering lots of parts sharing (motors, infotainment etc shared by Lexus LX, Lexus GX, & Toyota LC that I know of). The Tundra is running 110-120k units a year for the past several years. Sequoia is only about 15k units a year which is WAY lower than in the past. If Toyota would get off their ass and update both these & make them competitive in terms of MPG etc they might be able to sell more (I be in a sequoia maybe).

Wouldn't sales improve if they improve the product ?

    Even new expedition is out

In theory, but Toyota has always been behind the big 3 in the full size world, they'll have to make ALOT of improvements to gain more market share.

    Agreed

    But with minivan sale down
Everybody and their grandma making every SUV they can (including Toyota), I think a revamped sequoia would be good for market share

Good luck convincing a family to pick the new 18 Expedition with panoramic moonroof, integrated headrest entertainment, trailer backup assist, 360 camera, built in wifi, massaging/heated/cooled seats throughout, apple carplay, 3.5L ecoboost with 10spd that gets 16/22mpg, and all the other gizmos ford has over a refreshed Sequoia at similar price points. Ford, GM, Dodge all continue to woo this market share because Toyota remains conservative with their vehicles and what content they include while the domestics give the latest and greatest, until then market share wont change even if Toyota did more than a facelift. Though I do love my Toyotas, my mom's explorer and dad's raptor have both been reliable and really nice.

Oh I am not suggesting fords are not reliable

You know I am a raptor fan

Will the tundra ever take over full size market
    ?

Will sequoia take over suburban and expedition market?

Answer is resounding NO to both questions

However there are families who grew up with accord and Camry and have moved to pilot or mdx

They don't buy the rx350 because mdx has third row and mdx as a result of toyotas mistake has run away with that market.

These same families once they want to get bigger won't buy a expedition or suburban they want Japanese

    83k LC is too much

Thus the Nissan Armada And sequoia would get the business

Also with tundra and sequoia being actually brought to a new generation even if it isn't getting conquest sales, at least people with sequoia and tundra will upgrade instead of wandering away

    Just my .02

Most of us here are Toyota buyers first, but most families buy based on value. Though I understand what your saying. I just wouldn't be surprised if Toyota killed these models off or did little to keep sales going as they know they wont really gain market share. Though I like many here am desperate for a new Tundra. I almost bought one for the same price as my Tacoma, but 12mpg and lackluster interior, eh.

Pretty sure the RX outsells the MDX about 2 to 1 and has for a while.

Nice to see that Toyota has finally expanded the "TRD Sport" trim to the Tundra, but a complete overhaul was necessary for 2018. Where is the diesel option already? The full size segment is too damn competitive to keep the same body style and powerplant for more than 2-3 years. Meanwhile, Nissan is looking to make some noise with the Titan XD in a Cummins diesel offering...
