Alot of people like both Aimpoint and Eotech to be sure but here something that Jeff Gonzalez told me about Eotechs. When he's testing out a new weapons system with an eotech on the gun he doesn't even bother logging when he eotech fails because it happens so much. not so with either aimpoint or trijicon.

Just a datapoint. I have a trijicon ACOG with an RMR on top, i don't recommend it either get an aimpoint or just a plane'ol ACOG. The RMR just doesn't lend itself very well to the system that I have.

I have an aimpoint and I really like it so far.

there is a reason the military has a contract with them. these things can take a beating

    It's badass!
Looks so cool with the sunshade on!
That's definitely what you should get!

ACOG is the best. Take it from me, I own two, use one on my military M4, and also own an EO Tech with 3x magnifier and an AimPoint M 68. Save for the ACOG.

lol the ACOG is also $1k+

There is no way I would ever buy an acog. Im sure they are amazing sights but for the shooting I do I could not justify the money for one.

Believe it or not some of us old farts still use the iron sights that came on the A2 carry handle.

I got an aimpoint M2 from SWFA.com on a group buy through AR15.com. more than I wanted to spend but it was too good of a deal to pass up.

Kinda the route I wanted to go. Wasn't sure what the price was for an ACOG. To hear it is $1k+ was thinking of doing the Eotech with the 3x magnifier.

Ok, after a little bit of research and all or your help, I am going to buy a glock cause it is cool!!

Actually I am going to get a DD 5.56 carbine length flat top w/o sights. I am going to also order an aim point pro optics set-up. I will eventually get flip up BUIS. Thank you all for your help.

OP, stick with DD; it's a wise choice.
