Changed my belt today. Bought a Dayco belt at Advance Auto. Dealer carries Dayco belts as original equipment for twice the price. I dropped the skid plates to get it off, laying on the floor it was a 20 min job. Sure beats the $90 plus parts my dealer wanted!

At 81k the old one looked good except for some discoloration. It's easier from the bottom but could be had from the top. I figured for the cost and relative ease to replace it was worth it. I'm sure my father in law's FJ will suddenly need a new belt also. I got it 20% off online with in store pickup @ Advance Auto.

Yeah pretty easy to get to from the bottom/side. I didn't have to even pull my skid off but it's an aftermarket skid. I went with Gates though. No issues, going on a year since I did mine.
