So recently when i turn on my truck it squeaks/squeals for a couple of seconds, but only when the engine is cold or the weather is cooler. I have never replaced the serpentine belt on this truck. Does anyone have a clue if it is the serpentine belt or possibly which pulley it could be.
its a 2006 Tacoma base model with 4x4
    any help ! thanks

Likely the pulleys, I did this recently myself.

    Pulley 36173 replace I/D 1 and 2
    Pulley 36174 replace I/D 3 and A/T

edit: you can pull them all and find out which one is bad, or just swap them all, but they are kind of expensive.
edit#2: I am 90% sure they are they same as on the Taco.

I would put a new belt on it first.

It is a easy install and will let you know for sure if the belt is a issue or not. It is part of maintenance to replace anyways a pulley is not.

Another item that could be failing is the belt tensioner. If it is not strong enough even a new belt will not last long and start glazing over due to a weak tensioner.

X2 on belt replacement. Age and miles will make the rubber hard. Start up with cold fluids and parts plus the alternator working hard to recharge the battery puts a lot of strain on the belt.

An old trick from back in the day is to pour some water on the belt as the car is running. If it quiets down, it's the belt, if it still squeals its a pulley. Obviously do this with only a cup of water and don't get close to the belt.

    agreed with snowgod
it was the first time I did it on my truck and it took me 20 min. 14mm socket / long wrench
an additional person to prevent the belt from slipping out while you route the belt
mine hasn't sqeaked or squealed so far

The first time I changed my serpentine belt I didn't have a long breaker bar and was low on cash so I found myself in a bit of a bind. Eventually I figured out that if you remove the skid and come up from the bottom it's not to difficult for someone with the wrong tools and a lot of patience to replace the belt.
