    2015 TRD OR 6MT, 107k miles.

Truck had been sitting for a week at the airport. Belt had been squeaking off and on for a few months. Original belt.
On the way home half the belt disintegrated, wrapped around the fan shaft, and tore off a couple hoses resulting in coolant loss.
I was able to remove the stuff from the shaft, connect the hoses, add distilled water and limp home (the remaining belt still functioned).

    Couple of questions:
    - do I need to do anything to clean the coolant from the pulleys etc before installing a new belt?
    - anything specific I need to check on the pulleys / accessories?
    - what is the connection to the nipple in the picture supposed to look like? I reconnected it with some scrap hose to a similar fitting below and aft on the engine block (pics below):

    Thanks in advance.

no pics have come though. you can use water to wash the pulleys, and check the rotation and ease of movement on all your pulleys(they shouldnt "free wheel" like crazy) and tensioner tension.

also make sure the belt didnt wrap around the crank pulley and rub through causing an oil leak as well!
