This is what you were complaining about?

You owe Karma on this one. I hope the payback is worthy of everyone’s time you wasted.

I’m late to the party but, honestly, I heard nothing remotely offensive.

That doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy...

Sound like fucktards that can't be trusted. If I was the manager I would want to see this. Also if I was the regional superviser of TOYOTA Corp America I'd be interested in this little conversation as well.

"Came on the wrong day"...are you kidding me?

Grease monkey tech doesn't need to know your backstory to do the work on the car. Also be careful what you tell people apparently.

Dealing with the public is brutal. We all talk a little shit here and there. No harm no foul. This is truly a 1st world concern.

Lock this thing up and let's whip out the tits and beer.

"Build a relationship with your service advisor" some on here are saying. I'm on my third Tacoma (one 1st Gen and two 2nd Gens) and can count on two hands the total number of times they've had to be serviced by anyone but me. You can only build a relationship with a service advisor if your constantly in their shop.

Not to bash on 3rd Gens but it seems like they're the only generation of Tacomas that actually have enough problems that would cause you to spend time at the service department "building relationships."

So for those of you who are wondering why adviser is annoyed about having a 5k service on 3rd gen, its not because its personal to the customer or because its the vehicle type its actually about his paycheck. The majority of service advisers are paid for what work they can sell on a vehicle. For example when you come in for an oil change some places will check your tire tread depth, not because they care about your safety or whatever they tell you, its so they can sell you parts and labor.
Warranty work on a newer car tends not to pay very well and doesn't usually result in any other work being sold. Its not going to make them treat you differently to your face, or the car for that matter, but he may tell his tech who is getting this work that he hasn't gotten anything that is going to pay well today. That's what I interpreted this conversation as, because as a former adviser myself, I've had the same exact conversation.
Its casual chit chat about work. I wouldn't get butt hurt by it and throw a hissy fit like some people here are insinuating, because its not actually anything insulting and I'm sure if you asked their service manager they would say the same exact thing.

Would I tell corporate about this interaction? Nah.
Would I maybe bring this up to the service manager? Maybe. If they see the dash cam there, they should not consider their chat private and be mindful of what they are saying in the future because something like this could misinterpreted as some kind of personal attack and make that dealership look bad.

OP I also live in Atlanta I can not believe you were able to buy a Toyota from Autonation? When I went to buy my 2013 Tacoma they did not have anything to select from, Same thing with my 2017 4 Runner. I went to Marietta Toyota and they had a big selection and gave me a better deal (as per quotes) on Both. Autonation sucks in metro Atlanta.

At the time, Atlanta Toyota had the exact SR5 I wanted but they didn’t want to negotiate price AT ALL. I went to Autonation Mall of GA Toyota that same day and they also had the exact Tacoma I wanted. Negotiated the price down to 30 OTD. Autonation had a huge selection too.

Way to many Toyota Dealers in Atlanta for any of them not to negotiate, Marietta Toyota has done me right 3 times now.I got a killer deal on my 2017 4Runner Limited, they discounted the crap out of it because it was a Demo and it had 4700 miles on it.
Glad you found the one you wanted!

Honestly, you don't normally hear what people say when you're not around. People talk. It passes the time. Don't take it personally. Guy probably wouldn't remember it if you mentioned it to him. He was gabbing with his bros.
