Brought my truck in for the last free service @25k this morning. The guy there said Toyota just came out with a new deal for cars/trucks in my same situation. The deal is, next 4 services (30k, 35k, 40k, 45k) for $299. The flyer says the retail is $500+ for those.

Is this a good deal? I googled around and most 30k services by itself is $250+, so it seems ok. I haven't paid for it yet, but was planning to when I go back later today to pick it up. Once you hit 31k the offer is no longer valid.

    Yay or nay?

**just read it also includes 2 years road-side assistance

that doesn't seem too bad a deal actually. oil changes alone usually cost me about $35 each to do myself (use synthetic + a toyota filter). The rear diff oil change can cost a bit due to the oil being a bit pricey. if you can trust the dealer to do the maintenance, I'd say go for it. Some dealer mechanics are terrible as they usually have the most junior guy doing the basic service tasks for very little pay.

Id ask if the throttle body cleaning and differential/T-case fluids, plug changes are included in the price. At 30k miles, they should be done.

If that price is just for oil changes only, invite the to have sex with themselves.

    ;) J/k

.. Seriously, that service can easily be done yourself.

see what you'll actually get at 30K. plugs, air filter, whatever? look in the maintenance schedule and see what's called for. And will they do it. If the big ticket items at 30k are covered, it could possibly be worth it. If they just continue to change the oil and rotate the tires, I'd skip it.

That include spark plug change too? Personally I wouldnt spend that much for maintenance, but I typically do all my own work.

I asked the guy if that was just 4 oil changes and he said no, the 30k is a major one and follows the recommended service that is in the owners manual. I forget what he said about the other 3 services, but the 30k one stuck out to me

I've been going to this place the past 4-5 years (for my previous car too) and never had any issues with them, the guys are always pretty cool to me. So I trust them, I think
