Is it hard to see the oil level on the dipstick in your RAV4? I may have to trade for something I can read the dipstick on.

All joking aside, I find it impossible to get a consistent oil level on the dipstick (V6). It's not that I can't see the fresh oil on there, but it smears up the dipstick when you pull it out (did I just type that?)... yes, I let the truck sit for a while before checking and cleaned the dipstick like you're supposed to. Guess I'll just have to carefully measure what's going into the crankcase for a change..

I whipped my dipstick out this morning..... cleaned it and let it lay on top of the motor to relax.... I came back 1 1/2 hours later and checked the oil... It read just perfect..!! Nice clear line...no smear.

So, it looks like yuo have to "let your dipstick chill out" for a while before using it..!! (that's likely all-round good advice)..!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
