I haven't been able to find a service/repair manual for my 2012. The Chilton manuals stop at 2009 and the Hayes at 2011. Am I missing something? I don't need the huge loose leaf factory manual.

From my experiences, the Haynes/Chilton manual is wrong about alot of things. Even the method of checking the auto trans fluid is wrong.

If you insist on something 2012-specific, your only choice is:

    http://techinfo.toyota.com

Haynes makes a useful book for 2005-2011 and there is a lot in it that covers your 2012 as it's a 2nd Gen Tacoma. Haynes book # 92077. You can order direct from them and avoid shipping cost.

This forum has 2 threads that cover transmission fluid/drain/fill/flush/etc for the V6.

The following is a downloadable zip format 2005 factory service manual:

    none yet
I feel like Haynes does not have adequate info and it is lacking some of the necessary steps for shade tree guys like myself. I've found that Google and Utube were my best friends on some of those lucky days.

    Thanks all for the responses.
I'll get the 2011 manual. I doubt the brakes, drivelines, and ignition have changed.

I've got a stack of Haynes manuals that stand taller than I do. Have repaired/maintained many cars with them all. Are they perfect? Nope, but neither are the factory FSMs.

youtube videos done by people who know what they're doing can be useful indeed.

There's a link somewhere on here for the Toyota FSM, which is only online now. It's $15 for a couple days access.
