Setting up CB Radio using an FM radio mount. Is it possible?

Hello,

I don't listen to FM Radio, but I want to set up a CB Radio in my gen 1 tacoma. Can I toss my FM radio antenna, mount a CB Radio antenna in its place, and just wire that into my CB Radio?

Also, please share your CB Radio setups (mounting locations, kits, etc.)

I can't see why that wouldn't work. You'd get a good ground plane.

As for my CB setup...none. All of the guys I wheel with have switched over to GMRS. I use a handheld with an external antenna setup. I can easily switch to the handheld antenna if I want to take it out of the truck. Sorry, no pics.

 

Not that simple. Talk to a CB vendor.
