    I have 08 tacoma with TC LT running coilover with 500lb spring. Problem is that its to soft, so do I change the spring rate or shock valving? :/

    prolly both. 500# springs are too soft for an 08 D-cab, and chances are you're valving isn't as good as it could be

    alright yea shocks are valved to what TC sends out , would 600s be to big of a jump?

    600# with a re-valve of the compression would help a very large amount. How far down do you have the coils cranked to stay at ride height?

    I think 600 would be good for a double cab 08. 550 if you want a plusher ride.

    Would adding bypasses later on change the spring or just the valving of the coilover?

    No you still need the coil to support the truck weight.

    I would honestly trade springs with BMiller421 , its also easier than buying and selling. Then after you should get them revalved which is about $70-110 for both shocks. Both these things should see a far greater improvement.

    Springs/coils are mostly used for ride height, dependent on weight as well. People really shouldnt be basing suspension ride with coils, thats what shock valving is used for. But a lot of people do including myself. Like previously stated...

    500# 18" will be good if youll be running lift spindles. Its the standard to use when you get them, because it will allow you to take off enough preload and give decent ride height.

    Ive got 550# with no spindle and my coilovers are cranked up high. I will be getting spindles soon, so I should be ok.

    I say, if your 4wd or not going to get spindles. Grab some 600# springs. If you add a bypass and the ride is too stiff, thats what shock valving is used for. Valve the shim stack to have less damping. Or open the Comp tubes wideopen.

    If you thnk youll get some lift spindles, grab some 550# and put some compression damping in your bypass like what i did.

    Sounds good , marnes- do you know what valving comes in the fox coilovers with the TC kit?

    Im not sure.....do the fox shocks from TC come prevalved for our truck specification?

    I know if you look eiter on the shock cap or somewhere on the body there should be numbers that correspond to a valving chart on Fox. When you find the numbers and look it up on Fox's chart you can see what valving you have.

    Alright sweet thnk , yea I thought they come valves for the kit but I could be wrong. I'll look at the shocks tho and try and find the number
