Like the title says, I've chosen the Tacoma to be my next vehicle. I lived through the thrill of having a quick car and have decided I'm too tired of getting pulled over for going the speed limit LOL! Also looking forward to having a reliable vehicle I can count on for the next 10+ years. Being in MA it's essentially mandatory for AWD and the fact that I can do some amateur off-road excursions is really nice too. My local dealer has a certified used 2016 SR5 with 30kmiles and another 2017 SR5 with a bunch of bells and whistles(bug/rain deflectors, General Grabber tires, polished aluminum wheels, larger exhaust) as well as other new models--obviously. My question is: should I go with the decked out version of the SR5 or is it nonsense for someone who'll predominantly use the truck as a daily?

Edit: I've chosen the V6 AWD

How much are you saving over getting the same truck (comparably equipped) new?

Not much, maybe a little over a few grand.

edit: correction it's 17500 not 30k...was looking at something else entirely when I made that mistake. sorry.

I have a 2016 SR5 with about 33,000 trouble free miles, love the truck. If I was going to buy another one I would buy an Off Road, more features and not much more money. I would stay away from the loaded up truck, the dealer is just trying to increase their profit margin. You can buy an OR and just upgrade the tires and you have a very capable truck.

"A little over a few grand", excellent. Yeah, I'd definitely go new!

Great Choice! You're going to love your 4X4 truck! The more you drive it the better it gets! When you get a chance post some pics.

Comparing list price on used to negotiated new price makes little sense.

Another question: do they have belts or chains?

I just bought my first Taco, a 2017 SR double cab short bed V6 4x4, I wanted all black is why I went with the SR, it had cruise and keyless entry, about all I need, it's like a little version of my old 2010 crewmax tundra rock warrior. I would go with a new one if u are not saving a bunch and do it up the way u want not the way some dealer thought would make him more money. Attach17696_20170818_130937.jpg the day I picked it up

Less than 3 weeks later, I have taken step bars off too but no pics

Dealers mark used ones way up to scare you into buying a new one
