Severe Weather thread.

Touché . Wish my yard was flat enough to use a rider. I get my rider fix at my cabin though. Don't mind cutting the grass there.

In high school dad thought it'd be cool if I mowed the lawn with one of those contraptions

 

I've always wanted to give those a shot. I cut mine once a week though and when it's getting a lot of rain it's pretty high in a week. I'd probably curse that thing out.

 

If they're tuned up correctly they work fine. During the spring though the grass grows so fast that I have to set it on the highest setting and mow, then drop it to the lowest setting and go back over everything. Not a problem the rest of the year, just that first sprint that grass does.

 

Ain't nobody got time for dat!

I do. Since my yard is mostly garden anyway it doesn't take long. I can do the whole thing in about 20-30 minutes when the grass isn't exploding.

 

Yeah, takes me an hour and a half if I hustle. 2 hours if I don't feel like rushing. I can't imagine having to do it twice.

 

It'd take you longer with a reel mower, too. But, as soon as we moved in I started pacing off garden beds out in the yard, lol. We had a big yard at the old house that took us 2-3 hours of mowing and weedwhacking and there was no way I was doing it at the new house.

 

Yeah. If I didn't have kids and think of it as more of a chore. Then I'd take that kind of time. I consider a reel mower more at my old house where my yard wasn't as big. Of course that's why we wanted a bigger yard. For the kids. Poor dad gets the enjoyment of taking care of it. Right now anyway. As soon as these freeloaders are old enough. Guess who's cutting it!

It takes me 3 hours to mow my grass , after the first 1/2 hour it loses it's lustre
