Eye getting very close and more tornado warnings to the east. I read it was upgraded to Cat. 4 but also read it's Cat. 3. Not sure currently.

Yeah. I guess it's so close. Media likes to hype it too, so that might be part of it too.

This same general area keeps getting hit with tornado warnings. Watch the hooks in the warned areas. Crazy to watch. Hope everyone is safe...

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Yesterday we had light bands of rain from the outer bands. I went to sleep as the intensity was increasing, along with the thunder and lightning. Totals for yesterday was .6"

The rains this morning seem to be heavier. My fiancée's hospital had enacted the weather protocol, so it looks like she's stuck at work until this blows over completely. Once this band stops, I'll take the dog out and see how it looks.

Walked the neighborhood with the dog. All seems fine for now. However, a few houses down, they seemed to have left and put lots of sandbags in front of their doors.

I'll try to do another post later.

Well. My grandmother's city is starting to flood. She lives on the coast. Problem is, that's just rain. Not even the storm surge. If the storm goes back out to strength and head up, it'll significantly raise the surge by several feet.

Rain and thunder have increased. And with it the rain. Have 8" predicted for tonight.

At least I'm binge watching sharknado.

    Yesterday was the long night.

My friends evacuated their house last night because of how high the creek was supposed to get. They couldn't get down my neighborhood because of flooding. They could drive through it with their SUV, but it was scary for them. So i directed them to a high place they could leave their vehicle. Then had to do shuttle rides back and forth so they could unload their stuff and pets.

Meanwhile. My buddy came over to watch sharknado. Nearly got stuck here. He lives about 10 minutes away. It took about 30 to find a section of road to drive through so I could get him home. Managed to get back taking the direct reverse route.

We got about 13" of rain in the last 12 hours.

I just read we are about to get 12" more. And they're releasing some water from lake Conroe because it's so full. So all that will be making its way downstream.

Is your house still dry? Not sure if you guys have basements but I'd surely have water in mine with that amount of rain.

No basements here because we live in a swamp.

    Donkey!

Our house is fine right now. I'll see what the day brings.
