Severe Weather thread.

Anyone have pics of flooding or mud slides in California? I'd love to see em.

Your not kidding . Its been 50 below since november and the 6 feet of snow is a little much

 

It's certainly been hard on my woodpile. I've got enough for the rest of the season, I think, but just barely.

 

yeah i have 4wd and good A/T’s I got out and had some fun. surprisingly we did not really get ice. probably 75% of the time or more we get ice with maybe 1 to 2” of snow at the most.

usually it starts out as rain or a rain/snow mix and turns to snow over a couple hours, and they don’t really ever put rock salt down. they do that salt brine mix BS a few days before. and everyone drives over it and or it gets washed off by the rain or rain snow mix.

 

Still coming down pretty good.

 

I heard the EPA is raising it's ugly head again in regards to wood burners..

Yeah, they're proposing stricter regs on new woodstoves again.
Any new regs won't matter to me, since older stoves will be grandfathered in, but if they pass it'll pretty much make it impossible for any new stoves to be built. The tech they've got now just can't meet the proposed standards.
If they tighten them down too much more the only way to meet standards will be to add forced air induction and a crazy reburn or catalytic system that'll only work with super bone dry wood.

Which is ridiculous, really. The main problem with burning wood is that too many people are burning wood that's not seasoned. Seasoned wood in a modern stove produces crazy low particulates, but lots of people don't burn properly seasoned wood.

 

They don't want using wood, natural gas, oil, propane, nukes,, they don't want fracking, don't want the pipelines....I guess that leaves the sun

 

Not a fan of Fracking but I'm with rest of it.

 

unfortunately fracking is the only way to get the oil or gas from the formations!

No doubt. Just wish it was done with more care.

 

up here as well, My first two years in the oil and gas business was fracking through coiled tubing! Mainly N2 fracks
