Severe Weather thread.

They're forecasting "plowable snow" for my neck of the woods on Sunday. Of course, since the ground isn't frozen yet I'll just have to wait for it to melt instead of plowing it, unless I want to drop the plow and push as much gravel as snow.

 

Damn. Saying chance of some flurries Saturday with rain too. 46* for the high. My.kind of weather though. Kinda bummed for my kids. Halloween weather supposed to be chilly and rain. Had the same shit last year.

 

we are more likely to get ice than snow, and thats only maybe just cars/trucks, house roofs maybe some bridges will get ice. it’s 59* today ground is not cold enough for snow to stick.

Well the Aleutian Islands and the bearing sea are about to get hit with what's predicted to be the largest storm in the areas history. Winds up to 175mph and 50-60 foot seas... Should be a good one lol

Well luckily it's supposed to stay away from the mainland so most of the state should be fine, but yeah they're saying the storm has the potential to be more powerful than Hurricane Sandy was

 

Yep, but winds aren't expected to be as bad as they would if this big of a storm was in the tropics. Sucks for anyone on the Aleutians or in the Bering area though.

All the news stations around here are teasing us with "snow in the forecast" and then when they come back from commercial it says no accumulation is expected. I'm about to slap a weather guy! I want to play in the snow damn it!
