Governor Brown just mandated a water conservation/reduction order. I'm not sure how much people will follow it, but at least it's finally been done.

Ripped out my lawn, installed a rock garden. Neighbor across the street with automatic sprinklers has water running over the sidewalk. I won't report them, but some water Nazi will.
I manage apartments with young professionals as tenants. They have consistently conserved water by 35% over previous usage before the water shortage, and they don't even pay the water bill. Just ask the Coasties what they do on the East Coast for fun. They use their Patrol Boats as ice breakers. To me, this all means Climate Change is credible and gaining attention. We're all doing some hurting, wherever we live. Talk is about a new DustBowl in the near future.

That was a good read OZ. Cali is the evidence that something big is going on and since most of the country's food comes from here, the rest of the nation will feel the impact as well.

I am just amazed that virtually nobody here is even paying attention to the news. The populace isn't directly impacted just yet, but when the water gets shut off at some point, it will be too late.
