I think i would rather have huge earthquakes once in a blue moon than tornado's every year.

 

Tornado=Very localized damage!
Earthquake =Complete collapse of infrastructure! Fires, looting, and worse!

I've had a few near misses (hits) from tornadoes Gets the blood pumping!
I have a basement. I'll stick with the tornadoes

 

That red box you see is a tornado warning. And that hook in the red you see is a classic sign of rotation.

Google "hook echo" for some cool radar shots of them.

Yeah I'm up here in Tulsa in a second story apartment. So if shit hits the fan then I hope my tub is the safe area for us and our kids.

might be time to make some friends in lower places...family across the street juts moved in (toddler and newborn), they'll be banging on my door if it goes crazy. wife's at school so plenty of room down in my hidey hole.

 

You have a legit underground storm shelter? Separate from your house?

They have apartments down there but we don't know any of them.

in-ground in the garage floor. sure the house may come down on top of us but it's registered with the fire department and that's where they start looking for people (got a couple airhorns down there for good measure too).

makes changing the oil on my wife's car a breeze too lol

wife can stand, I can if I stoop. it has a series of holes on either end. we purchased a small magnetic fan that sticks perfectly over one of the vents to suck in fresh air since I'm not too keen on being down there with the lid closed...had to use it in may 2013 and I basically sat on the steps with the lid open and streaming news on my phone until a small one hooked our way (lifted before it hit, just some wind damaged fencing for us)

 

Fuck that shit. I'd rather weather six or seven blizzards a season rather than deal with that. Snow's just work; no matter how much you get it's manageable. But if a twister hooks your way there isn't much you can do about it.

 

Lol this is the reason I'm moving back to Louisiana. Hurricanes are a piece of cake compared to Tornados. My wife is always worried about these tornados, hurricanes well we throw parties for them.

 

main reason I want back in FL, at least you can see hurricanes coming days ahead. granted, they've been predicting this round or bad weather since saturday but you still can't tell exactly where these things are going to go. weather people are outstanding out here with their spring time weather tracking...winter time, not so much.
