Haha yeah, magnets could work.. There's all kinda ways to do stuff.. Needles in the balls or buns wouldn't be fun either.

Might tune into some extra mind frequencies too. Could help increase knowledge of things we know nothing about, and unlock secrets to secrets.

Maybe he could try hot glueing a T pin needle to the back of the patch, then just stick them up there.. I actually think that'd be a good solution for cheap.. Hot glue guns and T pins are real cheap.

They wouldn't go anywhere, he could smash down desert dunes all he wanted, baja style[IMG] , no fallage.

Could put a slight bend in the T pin to make it a slight hook of sorts, if needed.

Here's 2 pics of the headliner. Best shot I can do. Probably not much to do sewing wise short of taking it off. Might try the idea that @wildfyr3 mentioned

    If that doesn't work..
Try what I mentioned, I'm pretty sure it will, now that I see the headliner and it won't leave any marks either.... Think of it like button pins, like these..
    [IMG] True story btw...

Plus the patches with the velcro still on are rigid enough not to flop around like a dogs tongue licking its balls, while you're bajaing dunes and such. So you wouldn't need to take what's on off, so no sewing for you.

Sometimes hook velcro can furry up materials if you take it on and off, another thing to think about.. If you don't want pubey looking headliner.

It's probably the material your headliner is made of. 1st and 2nd gens have a completely different material that is kind of fuzzy. Thanks Toyota.

I have a book on sewing hats with the patterns but I haven't tried one yet. Maybe this year.

Yeah most people like the Flexfits so I use them. I have some other brands in snapbacks. I also tried another brand that has the flex fit stuff in it but they run small compared to Flexfits.

Only problem with using glue on the patches is that some of these are limited and can bring quite a bit of money if later sold. Would drop their value considerably if they had glue on them.

I know. Damn Toyota mixing it up and making it less convenient for us to stick patches up there :annoyed:

Thanks, I wanted to try and keep things neat.. So I store material under the table which helps with that, plus real easy to access any of it too..
I just built the table with 2x4's then stained them to match a work bench I built/have on the other side of the room.. Also the white top is just dry erase board from Lowes, so I can write/draw on it if I want.. If it gets messed up, I can just go get a new piece to freshen it up, bc I didn't permanently attach it, but it doesn't move around so it's fine.

Oh and the machine, I got a good deal on it used... It had hardly been used at all. I think they really may not have used it, it was in that good of condition.

Well I was thinking leave the velcro he already has on them.. The hot glue wouldn't hurt the patch itself bc it would be on the velcro... I've actually tried it before in the past with patches without velcro and it didn't mess them up..
Hot glue tends to hold well, but a lot of the time you can peel it off and it won't hurt certain things bc it doesn't seep like some glue..
Worst case if it wouldn't come out of the velcro (which it might very well not), just cut the velcro off and have new sewn on.. No biggy.

Tell you what Brian AKA uhplifted, I have plenty of patches and a hot glue gun and needles/pins, obviously sewing machine velcro..the whole 9.. I'll try it and let everybody know, so you don't have to.

    Haha
    Well I did it..
It actually worked just like I thought.. I only had some short needles.. If you decide to do it, my suggestion is get the longest T pins you can[IMG] (that way they'll span further across the back, and a T pin will lay flat to the surface so your patches won't be hovering off the headliner like a hover board (but that might be cool, ppl may wonder how you does that:confused:)..

Also, the hot glue is a little tricky at first to lay smooth, but it will, I used a Bic lighter (not flame, but body of) to help when it was still real hot, then used my fingers..
I also let it dry really good, then I was able to peel the glue out of the velcro (hook side), that's bc hot glue doesn't fully "harden" but molds itself around the velcro, but the velcro is tuff enough to stand the glue being peeled off.

So it may work for what you want, if it doesn't suit you, you won't spend much trying.

Could you take a pic of the pin and patch on headliner if it's not too much trouble?

    Haha
I'd have to do it again, bc I peeled it off.. Plus I'll have to pick up some Tpins bc the one I used was short with a ball on the end, so it wouldn't lay as flat as a Tpin anyway.. I looked around and didn't have any Tpins is why I used what I did.. So even if I used what I did again it wouldn't be the best for you to see.

I only did it real quick to see how well the hot glue would hold the pin in the velcro and if it could be peeled out.. I did stick it in a couple of things and it held fine upside down etc (but noticed you would need a longer pin bc the span, so it wouldn't droop)( come to think of it a long safety pin would be best bc you could glue the one entire side and leave the needle side out for pinning, that would give it even more rigidity), but I didn't take it out to my truck to stick on my headliner.

Next time, I'm somewhere where that sells those type pins, I'll pick some up and do it..

But essentially it's exactly same idea like those buttons I posted. You've seen how well those hold onto things I'm sure.
