At least my part anyways. Now to send it off to someone with a long arm quilter for the finishing touches.
The corner detail with the miter took longer than I care to admit

Not sure. A quick search said silicone fiberglass like welding blankets. That's from a forum I frequent for hunting and they generally are a good source.

Got everything cut out. I'll get started on a some long flat felled seams in the morning :D. Hoping to have all of the long seams finished tomorrow and then work on the cap/tie outs next week.

I was kinda thinking it may be made of something like fiberglass, like you said welding blanket, just thinner.

I've watched some vids on those tents with wood stoves.. I think that'd be awesome in the snow.

They are awesome for late fall/winter. They don't burn all night so you still need nice gear but getting in a warm bag and waking up to a warm tent is amazing. Also, never put cold pants on in the morning again.

I was just thinking.. I've mentioned this before in other threads..

I think it'd be a good idea if first post could include links to sites, be it for material or whatever..
So that as the thread grows it won't become lost, and will be easier if somebody is trying to get started or just as a quick reference.

I was also thinking, it'd be helpful to create some sort of list of what's useful for what... Example for sewing whatever material this needle and thread is best or this seam sealer or whatever etc..

I just see so many threads full of good stuff, but they get to be so long, it'd take days to go thru them and you never know what you miss..

Just trying to think/be efficient.. Figured it'd help us all in different projects.. Since it's like anything else you can't know it all, but being able to more easily share stuff helps..

Kinda goes back to the earlier posts about organization etc.

    Thoughts?

The absolute most under rated thing ever. There is nothing worse than having to get out of a warm bag and put on cold pants. I have a mr buddy heater, I run that thing for 5-10 mins before getting out of anything to warm up things.

I actually just PM'ed The man, to see if it's possible to do something for threads through out TW.. To allow a Op to allow people who would like to help with the thread, have the ability to update say the second post... To be like a Table of Contents Reference much like a book so to speak.. That way it wouldn't all be on the OP, bc we know how huge some threads get and it might become a hassle or be too much for one person to stay on top of..

Just been thinking of ways to try and help TW. Because I know there's a lot of people on here with a lot of good ideas, skill, and knowledge to spread, but so much of it is easily lost in huge threads.. Also a lot of people who want to do things and learn, but sometimes trying to gather what you need to do it is overwhelming just trying to find it all and sift thru numerous threads and pages in each..

Agree. I think it would be a great idea. Even have a mod add a second post for you to have all the links in there if you want.

Sry i was out this weekend. That's a great idea, for the time being I'm more than happy to do it for now. If you got any specific things you want to write up send them my way and I'll compile it and edit the 1st post to be info 1st and all my random stuff after.

So I'm thinking about taking down my Bestop soft topper and sewing on some Velcro to it where the windows would go, and getting some screen for it, so during summer camping I can let a breeze flow through instead of having those plastic windows up

Great idea! Do you sleep in the back of the truck? This is what you'd likely be looking for, pretty heavy duty stuff.

For reference, this is what I've made my screens out of, it'd for sure keep mosquitos and flys out, maybe not gnats. But I've put every ounce of effort I had into trying to rip this screen and I couldn't do it, it's strong stuff.

Yes, I do sleep in the back! Only once so far as I haven't been camping much lately. But that is the plan, and why I want to do the screens. Easy enough to take on and off and help keep it cool.

Thanks for the links, I'll look in to those when the time comes to start
