Yeah it's a great machine other than the number 4 needle problem which mine has. So basically it's a 5 needle until they figure it out. I've got the hat hoop with it also and it works great. If you get one buy the Fast Frames set for it as it will save you loads of time not having to hoops certain things.

Cool a hat hoop would be nice.

That machine and this Bernina 880 are on the top of my want list, stolen from google pic.
Dam 880 is 14,000 but it has some cool features.

Do you buy from embroidery.com or have software to digitize files?

Personally I'd buy a commercial machine for that kind of money instead of a single needle one. You would be a lot happier not changing thread colors all the time.

I digitize my own with the Brother software or use a digitizer for some things. It's usually worth the amount to have someone else do it that has done it for years and get it back in a few hours than mess with a complicated design. Plus they can do all the compensation for fabric type and digitize it for a hat if it's needed.

Thanks man! Taught myself everything as I went. They seem to get better designed and the finish is better the more I do.

Check out how the 655 does appliqué on YouTube. It's very easy and can stop for you to cut the fabric after it sews it down. Then hit start and it will do the satin stitch to finish it and done. Very quick with this one.

I didn't know it could do that, sounds cool. I'll go watch some utube on that machine.

This thread is pretty rad! Sewing is a great skill to know. I recently made some stuff sacks just to get my feet wet. Even made a few with zippers, which was a first for me. It's really rewarding to make your own stuff!

That's how you do it! Start small and build your skills. That's why I do everything. It would be easier and faster to buy a fridge transit bag but the experience is worth more to me.

    Post up some pics!

I've got a dozen yards of ripstop laying around I need to break into to make a hammock and tarp.

It will sew an outline first of where the appliqué is going to be. You put your fabric over the outline and hit go. It sews it downs and stops. You trim it and hit go again and it will finish it off perfect. I tried to find the video today and couldn't find it. I'll keep looking for you.

Here's some of the first stuffed animal I ever did in progress and the finished rabbit. It is also jointed on all the limbs. This was also the first time I ever did hand embroidery for the nose and mouth. I'll stick with the machine stuff. lol

My Crazy Quilt when it got back from TN. BAQS the show wasn't't judged so it's not a place ribbon but a pretisapation ribbon. One of my favorite things I own.

Cool I like a big quilt 96x96 will be a good size. I try to make the ones I'm keeping around 100x100 I like mine square as well. Once you get under them you stay put and it's never in the floor next morning. I think both our quilting machines do up to a 144" quilt. Just hunt for a quilter with a big machine.

I may or may not have enough fabric it would take 10 pics to show it all. Moving our quilt shop this week to a bigger town.
