Pick up a quality 1/2 inch drill bit (cobalt, not cheepo HSS) and some tap magic drill them all the way out. The rivets going up through the bottom of the frame are the worst. They stick in the cross member. I have not seen them welded to the cross member, just very tight, but I have not personally worked on every model year either.

The 3 that I have done all had a small tack weld on the washer/rivet on top of the cross member for the bottom vertical rivets. I've done two 2013s and my 2015. I'm not sure about the other year models.

Is there any benefit to running these if the rear shocks limit the down travel? I have icon 2.5s and did some crawling and it looks like the shock limited the drop even with stock shackles

I would say no. The whole reason for flipping shackles is to get more droop out of it.

That's what I figured. I was just curious if it affected the ride quality or smoothness at all otherwise

Not that I have experienced. Doesn't effect on road ride quality much. Offroad though!!!

Good info, thanks guys. I'm thinking this was probably a change with the 2012 model refresh.

Nope. FYI if your shocks are your limiting factory now, you should certainly look into getting some straps or longer shocks. Shocks do not like to be limits, especially on extension. We're working with Radflo, they are ok with their 7/8" shaft shock being a bump stop, but not a downward limit.

I have king shocks with extended travel. Will this work with your kit?

What are the extended and collapsed measurements for your shocks? Also what springs are you running?

    Alvin,

I don't have specific travel numbers for the King OEM springs. With the standard stock spring the shock measurements are approximately 16.25 compressed to 25.25 extended. ASSUMING your springs have a similar flex, it looks like your shocks would be a bit short on the extended side in the factory buckets. You'd want to look into adding some limit straps for those shocks.

Do you guys sell shackles that would go along with this kit for a lift of about 1.5 inchs to 2.0 inchs?

We do have HD replacement shackles available in different lengths on our website here. The shackle flip itself gives you 3/4 inch of lift, plus our 6 inch shackle which gives another 1.25 inches of lift would net you a 2 inch rear lift.

@ArmorTech im trying to decide if I should get a kit for my truck. Running dakars, wheelers bumpstops, extended brake lines and bilstein 12" 5125 with bamf relocation. How beneficial would these realistically be. I haven't been able to fully max out the shocks I think because of the dakars.

changed out my dakars for expos...and now I have this problem.

my hi-lift is still holding up the bumper...did I set the holes correctly?

I tried moving the shackle mount as rearward as possible, but my pelfrey rear bumper mount is in the way...so i'll have to cut off about 1/2" from the rear vertical mount.

simple leaf spring swap turned into more work than expected :(
