Shackle Flipkits??

    donahoes are only about 8" travel... with a flip kit on aftermarket leaf packs, you will want to switch up to a 10" travel shock...

    i have a magic setup that i already told Amir and JD...

    My plan was to leave the front stock until I saved enough cash for the All-Pro long travel kit for 4x4.

    I figured I could do the rear end with no harm until I had enough cash to do the front.

    I never really considered ride height until now, but I suppose my truck would not look very good, so perhaps it would be better to wait until I had the front done.

    I think you may be right. Because generally speaking most of the ride height is gained through the larger tires. But in SilverSeven's case he got a custom Alcan 6" spring pack.

    I pretty much want to do the exact same thing SilverSeven did in the rear.

    I am running Alcan's 6" pack. It is longer than the stock toyota pack, and also provides lift, not quite 6" however. Then i installed the shackle flip kit, and Terraflex XJ 1.5" lift shackles (they are about 5.5" eye to eye; kind of confusing, but they lift an XJ 1.5" all on their own.) My truck sits perfect with my procomp front end and the aforementioned. I now have an SAS and I havent actually seen it yet, but i believe my ass sags a bit.. that is because i now have about 8" of lift up front.

    The XJ shackles are a perfect match for my 6" alcans, with stock springs, keep the stock shackle, as the length of the Alcans is what makes the longer XJ shackles necesary.

    When i first installed the flip kit with my Alcans, the springs were too long for the stock mount and shackle, so the spring and shackle hit the frame (the frame rested on the shackle/spring) So i knew i needed a longer shackle that would keep the spring down in the optimal location. 5.5" eye to eye shackles did the job. It just so happens that XJ shackles use the same design as our stock toyota shackles, they are the same sizes and everything.
