If your thrust is off a lot move the front pockets and fix both problems at the same time

Housing has been bent for who knows how long giving the truck a wander feel that no alignment could cure. I finally replaced it with a straight housing and it drives nice again. I can't believe I never checked camber on the rear. I knew thrust was off.

Ya these frames vary the I do a ton of alignments they range from .0 to .30 on second gens I’ve seen brand new 3rd gens with insane amount one was in the .5 range worest was .75. I have access to hunter alignment rack so I can get stuff pretty good. Thrust usually is the alignment of the axle even if your axle is Straight your thrust can be super off

Maybe u have a print out somewhere ? I’d be worried that it’s off when people start welding on hangers it’s very hard to get them perfect and I never see it with weld on style and even if they do the frames vary

By inverting the shackle, I would imagine that Toyota is after a particular roll center and handling characteristic. Here you can see how it works with leaf springs and a regular hanger... if the shackle is inverted, that line is going to change.

Brian is right. There are many factors involved, but based on current frame design and desired function of "being a truck" in terms of load carrying capacity, effective spring rate, and stability, Toyota felt this would be the most practical solution. DFM is a significant factor.

Here's some more info if interested...
