I’ve been looking for a cheap bed rack for awhile now. Shafoni.com has a bed rack for $75. There’s no way this is legit right? Someone please tell me if they have any experience with this site.

    No

also, nothing for the Tacoma is cheap
It gets priced higher to cater to the crowd since it is not Jeep

if you want cheap make it yourself

scammers make websites trying to look legit. Copying pictures. Brands you’ve never heard of and don’t trust.
They want to take your money and not send anything. Then shut down and disappear with the money.

look at any time an actual real company does a giveaway prize contest on Instagram.
A bunch of fake profiles impersonating them quickly pop up, likely from a third world country, pretending to do the giveaway under the condition you give them your personal and credit card information

It’s grown a little more “sophisticated” than e-mails about your prince cousin in Nigeria offering you money.
There is also “calling about your cars extended warranty”

if it costs $300 in parts to produce
    Plus labor
Nobody is selling it for $75, even if they stole it

    same
    Everyone starts some where
A lot of things can be self taught

When there is a need, it motivates you to find a way to make it happen

I want a bed rack with a spare tire carrier on the back. I’d have to weld one up for the simple fact no such product exists on the market.
Apparently who needs a spare tire mount with high clearance out of the way, when you can just buy one for $700 whose only function is mounting a fishing pole to

Mobtown rack probably looked the best but they shut down

Softopper your best bed is new or used, maybe local, slightly cheaper than new
But new still cheaper than people wanting $2500 for some shell that doesn’t even have a brand logo on it/is a cheaper one like century or whatever the name is etc

rack is probably just tube and bracket arms that go down to connect at the bed bolts so they tie into the truck frame that the bed bolts go into
That’s the only strong thing I can think of in that area
Otherwise the bed is weak composite and the bedsides are just there for aesthetics and aerodynamics

    there’s always custom fabrication
Hiring a skilled welder to build your vision

I’ve spent weeks on craigslist hopping states looking for a softopper. Cheapest I’ve found is $600 and 2 states away :annoyed:

went through the same thing and ended up buying new for the same reason
Or they have worse black and not tan for enjoyable extra heat under the sun. Or it’s in another gen for fitment that doesn’t match
Same thing with shells. $1000 in any state. $2500 in $5.50 gas land CA

At least with the prices you know you can sell the Softopper for a decent amount if you decide to change it up later
Idk what they charge for shipping or what current lead times are. It’s out of Boulder
