You cant return them? You should be able to. You may be able to go direct to General as well. They are factory defects.

Make a big fuss. If the tires suck, prove it, and get your money back. Do take their sh!t.

I plan on calling the general manager of the tire center at Walmart tomorrow.
If I don't get anywhere with him I will try and call General tires directly.

That sucks. I had this happen with a BFGoodrich tire that couldn't keep balance. The balance would work for a while then go back to crap. Spent way too much on repeated balancing before I realized it was impossible (thanks to a Les Schwab guy for finally pointing out this tire was junk). I tried for a while to get some kind of recourse, but ultimately I ended up buying a complete set of new tires because I was going on a road trip and the shaking would have driven me insane. I don't know if these kind of things are a fluke or not, but I will never buy BFGs again.

This is our 4 th set of General Grabbers AT2 ( had on other vehicles in the past) and never had problems with them. This is why we decided to go with them again.

I would not go to walmart for anything auto related. I have the grabber at/2 as well. They were fine for almost a year. Started to notice a shimmy north of 50mph. Finally took the truck to a reputable tire shop (not like a big o or just tires, find an old school place with old guys that know what theyre doing). My best tire was 3 ounces out of balance, the worst was 7 ounces. Thats....a lot. Big o tires coule never get the truck perfect, just close. Now its spot on.

According to the guy doing the road force testing, the back tires were 4 lbs out of balance. This is why he said they were bad tires and needed to be replaced or he suggested beading (?).

303tacoma, thanks for the link. Very interested read and I quoted the lbs wrong. He said Walmart had put 4 lbs of weight on the tires and the Dealership that did the testing said that was excessive. Dealership stated the tires were 42 lbs out and he considered them to be bad tires needing replacement.

Yes my caster is set at 3.1
I had my coopers road forced right from the beginning knowing they were a heavy tire, also I've been told a dynamic balance is better than static.

Does anyone know the stock caster and toe settings for the TRDs. It would be interesting to compare the Sport and the Off Road.

I'm pretty sure the factory specs are the same for both off road and sport
With a lift and aftermarket UCAs caster is set higher than factory specs (to deal with the wandering when driving)
